  1. Seriously ... I need that loom on my track car I have been looking into doing it as want to be able to remove the engine just by unplugging the loom on the firewall for easy access etc. I went to the Autosport show on a trade day this year and there were a couple of companies offering custom looms like this. Can you PM me details and if you can how much that came to please?
  2. It may be worth noting (if anyone else is interested) that if you have a clutch driven LSD then both wheels will rotate the same way when they are off the ground. Good little test to see if you do not have a standard LSD but an aftermarket clutch type Diff like TRD, OS Giken etc.
  3. No issues, its working fine
  4. Never dealt with them, speak to the traders on here they may be able to match or better the prices.
  5. Oh my giddy aunt.... I assume its a track car??
  6. Is it Auto fluid or Oil? Maybe difficult to tell if it due for a service. Looks like it leaking pretty bad, Best check your levels that should show up which one it is. Could be the input shaft seal on the gearbox or the torque converter, if its not the gearbox then it will be the rear crank oil seal.
  7. You cant really call that a Supra..... but the god of thunder housed in a Supra shell!! Hmmm I can... do you want me to start...
  8. I love reading these threads
  9. Yep CTEK the way forward.. I have this one.. http://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/MXS%205.0%20v1
  10. Running 1.5bar at the moment, I thought you only suffered head lift in crazy power applications.
  11. A quick update. Spent a few hours on Saturday having a look at the car. Took the plugs out and visually inspected the combustion chambers using a bore scope and there were no signs of coolant seepage in the chambers, checked the spark plugs to see of there was anything evident on these but they were fine, ran a compression test and this was fine, never had a chance to do a leak down test as I couldn't find the adapter I needed to change the air line connector to the fitment I needed (typical) - another one on order so I guess we will see when that arrives. I decided to do another coolant sniff test... ran the car up to operating temps and did the test again to my amazement this time it passed... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U8wR7DwraU Cant really understand this, to make sure the fluid was working (and to make sure there were no blockages in the tube) I went around the back of the car and popped the end into the exhaust and the fluid went yellow so its working the way it should. I retested the car 5 times that day and they all came back negative so happy days! I am going to revert the cooling system back to how the stock system worked to see how that goes.
  12. I am going to start to have a proper look this weekend I think. Going to start off with running the sniff test again (Just to be sure) doing a compression test and getting my borescope to have a look into any suspect cylinders to check out any signs of coolant entering the combustion chambers.
  13. Cheers mate, Yeah I hope so too. I am kinda hoping the rear vibration issue is a simple fix, the prop is off on its way to get checked so hopefully its just this. Its just two fairly major problems in one go I think got me down a bit lol. But I am starting to get into mend it mode now
  14. Ah I would like to keep the head that I have now if its not cracked or warped (it has not overheated so shouldn't be warped) as its had a lot of work done by Swindon race engines.
  15. Yeah true, glad that my other engine has not sold yet - May keep hold of it for now just in case something is major fubard... although I am tempted to purchase the fully built VVTi engine that Paul has at the moment (and switching the heads over if the one I have is fine) or purchasing one of the special offer blocks he has for sale.
  16. Are you keeping the stock tank? If so then yeah the swirl pot can be installed in the well and you can plate it off that should pass, although it would be best to check with the scrutineers that run the event you plan on doing for guidance on this. If you cant speak to them then you can purchase a MSA yearbook which details everything (this is the link to the 2012 book http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentviewarticle.asp?article=1122) If you are having a new tank installed (like an ATL tank) you will need to install the tank in a approved metal enclosure (with a sealed lid) and then that separated by a firewall.
  17. Cheers mate, Yeah it will be all sorted fairly quickly, my wife has been awesome about it by saying take all the time you need to sort it. Reminds me that I have a very rare woman
  18. Cheers dude Yeah that setup needs an external header as it does not look like it has a cap on the actual rad itself, the pressure relief on the header tank vents to the stock coolant tank. I assume you mean approved you mean MSA/FIA approved. No having the fuel lines/tank/swirl pot open to the cockpit is not approved, You need a firewall between the fuel system and the cockpit. I am looking at changing my tank to an ATL bladder unit in which all the fuel lines will be re-routed and the rear section sealed off. Come to think of it I may as well do that while the car is undergoing the other work.
  19. Yeah, I will need to replace the header tank anyway as on closer inspection it is has a pin sized hole in a weld now and of course the fact its swollen. So may as well turn the system back to how the stock setup works. Actually thinking about that the radiator is lower than the engine (as its mounted at 45 degrees) will that cause any issues If I was to revert it to a stock type setup? I wouldn't have thought so but its worth an ask.
  20. Cheers, Yeah I may have enough room looking at it, I will have to take the windscreen out but that's not so bad.
