  1. The ride quality will be reduced from stock. These have solid bushes and therefore really only intended for the track so they will be pretty unforgiving with our lumpy, pot holey, cracked, crappy roads. Not to mention they will wear very quickly because of our roads. I saw these a couple of years ago and was surprised and skeptical about their price. I did a bit of digging and I didn't find anyone (back then) who had taken the plunge and started to use them. Your findings will be intriguing - Subscribed
  2. I have them on my track car now for 3 years and on my last supra (Same kit) for 1 year and they have been fine so far. As with anything braking is down to pad choice, fluid and tyres not just bigger discs and bigger calipers. UK spec brakes have been proven on the track but IMO I found the feel awful. I am looking to change my brakes from Ksport to AP Racing when I have the chance but this is mainly down to the fact that I may need to get hold of spare parts quickly and in my experience the lesser known brands usually have longer spares lead times, although with the Ksport kit I have yet to test that (they have not let me down at all). I would say whacking on 8 pot on the fronts is going to bugger your brake balance, you may want to put UK rears on or at least at least upgrade the rears with one of the Ksport rear kits. No point making your front tyres do ALL the braking work, not only will you actually lose performance it could cause a nasty accident.
  3. Lol cheers Chris, thanks for the selector seal as well I got that the other day, will hopefully fit next week
  4. Just a small update, not much to report really been really busy with family and work Sorted a fuel leak issue on the Bosch 044 and set about sorting the templates needed to make the Tank firewall.
  5. If you are getting stuff from RHD japan make sure you factor in Duty and VAT by using this... http://www.dutycalculator.com/
  6. I don't want adj pulleys but... "The 5-bolt design eliminates any chance of slippage," 5 Bolt design?? Surely I only count 3. Who makes them? Hmm
  7. I am up for this.. however I will need to trailer the track car there so I assume there will be additional cost for this. Bignum.. you have been a number of times do you know what sort of extra cost having a trailer will be (ferry wise). 1. Gordy.r / Glasgow / 1 driver and 1 passenger 2. Bignum 3. ManwithSupra / Southampton / 1 driver + trailer and 1 maybe 2 passenger(s)
  8. Most aftermarket strut braces don't do Jack... Especially Pivoted ones.
  9. Only if they are welded to the chassis and pillars. Otherwise its just extra weight.
  10. No point unless its a weld in cage and you are using it on track with a helmet and a harness. Otherwise its more metal to mangle you up when you crash.
  11. I love the look of the 996, Looks like you are doing some lovely work to it as well - always nice to see a car treated correctly. Love the attention to detail so far, Would love to hear what this sounds like with the new exhaust.. so get some vids up Keep up with the updates mate, love the work.
  12. Cheers Chris Thanks for the seal and your advice on email.
  13. Didn't remove the old seal no, Pushed the new seal over it, I used a new Toyota standard seal. I was never told to use a slightly larger one... Any tips for removing this seal without scoring the shaft??
  14. Hi All, Since replacing the selector shaft seal last year it seems recently I am getting a dribble of Gearbox oil again from it So it looks like the selector shaft itself is probably scored in some way (as far as I remember I didn't score it when pushing the new seal in place). How much would I be looking at to get the shaft replaced, I am assuming it will be a full strip? I know a lot of people will say don't bother and just live with it, but as the car has a flat floor I don't really want it pooling and then it being flicked up onto a hot exhaust and causing a fire, as a fire in the trans tunnel with a flat floor will be hard to put out. I would do it myself but when it comes to gearboxes it pays for having someone experienced do it. Any Ideas??
  15. Welcome What are your plans?
  16. I find the steering feel and feedback is great - However I have a vastly different Supra than the norm. Mind you when I used to track my first Supra the steering feel and feedback was OK, it was certainly nothing to boast about though. I wouldn't remove the PAS on a Supra.. the steering is very heavy without assistance.
  17. Finished the Fire extinguisher bracket today. Looks so much better in carbon even though these were random offcuts from the other stuff hehe Here is old vs new And here is new in position. Much better and only weighs 77 grams
  18. NA Supra - Around 220bhp weighs around 1450kgs (152 bhp per tonne) CTR - Around 197bhp weighs around 1300kgs (152 bhp per tonne) There is simply nothing in it in terms of performance really. Get a TT
