  1. I wouldn't.. If you are going to spend money on the car get some stuff thats at least proven like Ikeya, Wisefab, Marks Engineering or stick with OEM. Loosing any suspension arm on a car is going to result in a big ££££'s accident or worse kill someone. Even if the arm does not fail, you will only be dissapointed as when you next jack the car up after a few months to find out what is causing that "new" knocking noise, you will find that the "new" cheapo arm bearings are shot due to the bad roads salt and dirt. Uprated fully adjustable arms are really only practical and useful for track use where after every track event the car is checked, parts are cleaned or replaced and clearances are checked before the next event. I don't mean to sound off and I understand that the OEM arms are very expensive, however if you want the car to last and give you "trouble free" motoring then look at the evidence, its taken well over a decade of use on the OEM arm to warrant replacement. Try and match that with an open bearing aftermarket cheap arm and well you simply wont, you would be lucky for it to last 6 months before you need start to need to replace stuff. I have yet to see anyone talk in favor of these cheap arms as yet.. that has to be ringing big big bells...
  2. You heard correct, the suspension arms are rubbish. Other kit I have no idea.
  3. Cheers Chris I will see if I can get some spare parts info.
  4. It will come with the shifter, slave cylinder, release fork etc... You may have to source the gearbox mount as the one I have has been modded to fit the track car. Looks like the RPS clutch and RPS flywheel will also be up for grabs... Will have to think about price for that.
  5. Sorry I meant need a R154 not a W58, After a while of debating and speaking with other companies, I have decided to go with the Quaife 69G for the box as it seems the only one which will handling the sort of power I have. They (Quaife) also do a kit now where you get the 69G box, the R154 bellhousing adapter plate and input shaft extender. All I need to do is get a lunched R154, nick the bellhousing and clutch release system, get a 1JZ flywheel, clutch, starter motor and a new custom rear prop and we "should be singing"
  6. I got this wrong, the bell housing I need is the R154, I assume as this was for a 1JZ this fits up to a 2JZ just as easy. I understand that I would need to change the flywheel and clutch If I use a R154 bell housing.
  7. I wouldn't have thought a sequential would be ideal for the road, still I suppose you could. Shame Carl @ Tractive reckons my car is too powerful for their box and I quote "it’s a bit on the limit for the power" Sucks as I know you rate them highly.
  8. I have a had a look and it seems that that they go from £1500 for an unknown issue with the box to £2500 for a minter I suppose probably looking at around the £2k end then.
  9. Cheers guys, I was hoping to get some guidance price wise as well Obviously I can see what a 6 speed conversion goes for 2nd hand but not much on the box itself - - - Updated - - - Oh yeah thats something i can do as well, If you want it can be fitted at the workshop as I have full garage and ramp facilities
  10. My V160 should be up for sale soon. It will be the box only. Was just wondering if anyone is in the market for one so I can factor it in the budget for my new 6 speed sequential box ;) The only thing is mileage ...I believe it was 85k before the car was built into its track form, since then its only really done 3k miles extra, bearing in mind during its time as a track car its had very regular oil changes to keep it sweet as I knew it would be sold on one day. I may also have my RPS street-max clutch and lightened flywheel up for sale if I cannot use this with my new box (R154 housing) Even though these are not leaking the box will have the input and output shaft seals replaced as a matter of course before its sold to save you any hassle. What sort of price should I be asking and is anyone interested
  11. I will hopefully be in the UK Time attack championship in the Pro Extreme class next year
  12. May be worth it for big spec drag cars, no point on a road car IMO. Even for drag cars I have seen them use CO2 Extinguishers instead.
  13. Good good... Hopefully get my 69G box this winter now Just need to get a W58 bell housing which should be fairly easy.
  14. If I can find a few hundred million £'s behind my sofa then I will get right on it Unless anyone wants to donate to a kickstarter project
  15. Is the 1JZ engine gearbox bolt pattern the same as the 2JZ? Just need to know as I my have finally sourced a bell housing which will work with my future 69G Chaarrs
  16. Dayyyyuummmm I guessed it was one only as the webstore said each.
  17. I was thinking about that the actual material cost isn't much really. I think I have some blocks of 6061 laying about which would be the right sort of size, not sure on the Temper though. I would need some advice on what the best Joints etc are to use. Not sure I have the balls to try and make CF ones..... just yet
  18. Lol I wish, it was one of those zoned out moments and I just needed to share Could start thinking about names for the bends and straights...
  19. Was thinking (well daydreaming) the Supra "S" would make for an awesome race track.. I mean world class!! 3 Main straights, some challenging flat out bends, heavy braking zones, hairpins, chicanes (slow and fast) Would make a great 25th Monument for the Supra... Now who on here is a billionaire...
  20. They are nice, shame I don't have a key for mine. Bronze and Titanium http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0157/1942/products/scene.116.png?v=1399276966
  21. Yeah I spoke with Wisefab about a year ago now, they don't have locations for the ABS sensors which I need. They said they could add them however after asking a few more questions it all went quiet their end... I have seen the other cheap stuff, I wouldn't trust them on a milk float..
  22. Yes per arm but it is in AUD so works out to be £656 each before taxes etc... pretty expensive! However nice to have a choice now. I also like that they put the weight of the arms, it seems its hard to get info like that from Ikeya etc.
