  1. It was easier to be honest as the adapter plate that's being supplied is designed to be used with this housing. Yeah it was basically half the price from the US and I also have the peace of mind its an unused item with no cracks or fatigue etc.
  2. Brand new Toyota genuine R154 bell housing arrived today from the USA for the sequential box https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10991242_785653304842648_2564871884779101098_n.jpg?oh=1082339d67a7c248a081f0bbd7c29c15&oe=55946DD1&__gda__=1431939433_54cdcb17f75a5c6afa754aa807b336be https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10980758_785653341509311_8374506688000426185_n.jpg?oh=e36631d51c5f8eceb45abf8ae3996b5b&oe=5558850D&__gda__=1431029124_bbb79d2aeed1e4bd3984023afb89d378
  3. Probably one of the life racing series if i can get a deal on it (hint hint)
  4. Ah cool, thats good know cheers - - - Updated - - - Only Thrice!!!
  5. Just making the whole thing reliable, at the moment the loom is pretty terrible and 80% of it is a stripped version of the original loom which is now well.. getting on a bit. I dont want to end up having issues at the track because some connector has become brittle or there is a break in the wire. Plus I am going to be moving from old school fuses and relays to a Solid state Motorsport PDU.
  6. All the kit need has started to arrive for the paddle shift loom I am using MIL spec Raychem Spec-55 wire for the main loom, Deutsch DTM style connectors and Raychem D25 sleeving - along with other various bits, etc. I will also be renewing the entire engine and chassis loom with this spec cabling/connectors (Deutsch AS series for the engine) at some point as well. I know its a bit Geeky and its just some wire and connectors but I like it. https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/p480x480/10928830_785271251547520_2860907932766605862_n.jpg?oh=065bdd000b5bd7411be8461d47211951&oe=558E439C
  7. Ah there you go, I never looked at the link lol.
  8. 105db is perfect, hope i can get the new box installed in time. EDIT Actually no I wont....
  9. I thought it hilarious as well, however I was a little annoyed they didn't actually review any cars...
  10. Yeah you have a selection of ratios you can choose although not all ratios can be used together. I looked at the speed data from the car on various tracks and came to the conclusion that these ratio's would best suit my needs. The top speed is a little high however I wanted the extra legs for tracks like silverstone where the straights are pretty long. The rev drops are done by a bit of software Quaife supply so you know what you are getting before you get it
  11. Confirmed my Sequential gearbox will be delivered on the 27th, its going to Chris Wilson's first to get the Concentric hub bearing release sorted. Then its time to fit, get a new custom prop shaft, install all the carbon panels, fabricate a few brackets etc install the air shifter kit and then start testing... going to be a busy few weeks!! I'm actually really really excited.. For those who want to know these are the ratio's I have chosen... 1st 2.653 2nd 1.745 3rd 1.306 4th 1.000 5th 0.850 6th 0.762 On a 4.083 Diff running a rolling circumference of 1954.78mm which equates to.. these speeds/rev drops (rev limit 7200rpm) Top Speed in 1 gear = 48.441 MPH And changes into 2 gear at 4736 RPM dropping 2464 RPM Top Speed in 2 gear = 73.647 MPH And changes into 3 gear at 5389 RPM dropping 1811 RPM Top Speed in 3 gear = 98.403 MPH And changes into 4 gear at 5513 RPM dropping 1687 RPM Top Speed in 4 gear = 128.515 MPH And changes into 5 gear at 6120 RPM dropping 1080 RPM Top Speed in 5 gear = 151.194 MPH And changes into 6 gear at 6455 RPM dropping 745 RPM Top Speed in 6 gear = 168.655 MPH I will of course flood this thread with the build photo's test videos etc..
  12. Not 100% sure but if the Tyre is dated before the regulation change then its probably going to be fine. It only means Toyo can no longer produce the old design as it does not conform to new guidelines for road legal tyres.
  13. Was chatting with a representative of Toyo at the Autosport show about the R888R that they had on display. They have had to redesign the Tyre due to legislation change for road use as the old design does not comply now. I also remember him saying there will be two compounds as well, a GG and SG, one for road use (GG) and one which will not be dot marked for pure track use (SG), although since then I have not heard much more about the SG compound apart that they may make the smaller sizes road legal, will have to see.
  14. Looks like the forum has saved you ££££'s already... become a member well worth the £10
  15. Yes very much so. The better your tyres grip the more energy you can transfer to the brakes. You could have the best brakes in the world, but if your tyres have bad grip you will never release the potential of the brakes. As some others on here have already said I have the Ksport kit on my track car. I have found them to be reliable and so far had no hassles. Yes they are a cheap kit and lots of people frown on them however to me they were a clear marked improvement over the UK's I had on my previous Supra and the Track Supra, mainly for the pedal feel, not to mention they are a lot lighter which helps with reducing unsprung weight. Its surprising to see peoples reactions in the car, they always comment on the how savage the braking is and are always surprised it is a cheaper kit. However that said, my car is set up properly for the track and I am using descent pads, fluid and rubber so within reason similar braking could be achieved using UK's. I will upgrade to an AP racing setup one day as it seems KSport and other cheaper brands change their designs from time to time so this scares me with part availability. However for now they have been as good as the other more expensive setups I have been out on track with.
  16. Ah well done, shame its only 3 rounds but then its better than nothing.
  17. If the oil pressure light comes on then get off the track and stop as quickly and as safely as possible. As far as I remember as long as the car isn't in manual mode and in 1st (L) or 2nd gear then the gearbox wont "drive" the engine (engine braking) which means switching off and pulling off as quickly as you can would be the best bet.
  18. Wow that was cheesy... good though
  19. Probably never will unless something major happens, or I am offered Stuuupid money for it. I dont think I will have a very big market for it anyway if i was to sell it, kinda only appeals to one type of person really.
  20. No I am afraid not, I haven't got an S8 so I will be using the GCU with the paddle kit. It only requires the S6 to provide RPM and TPS info and a execute a torque cut based on the signal from the GCU for upshifts. The rest is wired into the GCU if I read the Schematic properly.
