  1. Love it. Probably be in Hamiltons pants by the Australian GP.
  2. No, these are standard, Yellow and Blue are their company colours.
  3. Some more of the box now its coming along Note no shifter stick https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/18382_793352184072760_1345623736649458048_n.jpg?oh=a9eaa013e9e7a614ae27c88372c86214&oe=558D960C&__gda__=1435203559_4091948d60a68d9ed6d09c625904a6d2 https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10405400_793352200739425_7013129717557064031_n.jpg?oh=38a334638d6d8338ed8255fb56833d4d&oe=55858D4C https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/11024709_793352217406090_3239107189159964139_n.jpg?oh=adce4c9a1fe23038cb3dd6b0293ae1c4&oe=55964211 https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/11021228_793352240739421_6493344529508086784_n.jpg?oh=f76bc27e4c6077456ba37a7a9f0f4a7d&oe=558FAC97
  4. Those pics have both the front and rear casings off, this also does not have the input shaft either, the box is similarly sized to the getrag, all you are seeing here is the center section (Like I explained the other day at the workshop on how the casings are removed). There is a weight saving of around 4kgs, not much but it is something. When you take into account the bell, casings and shifter centerline the 69G is actually 3cm longer than the bell to the shifter center line on the V160. From the Bell to prop flange its 21cm longer than the V160. The box (minus bell) is slightly slimmer than the V160 coming in at 1.3cm less on its body. Also got a text from Neil at Geartronics a short while ago the paddle shifter kit is being delivered tomorrow
  5. Just got a couple of photo's from Quaife on the build of the new gearbox. Shouldn't be too long now https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10385386_792933200781325_8775439188560808343_n.jpg?oh=f892687d5a8b9007b18f9b93ea97cdfc&oe=5588C7E0&__gda__=1431010442_abd04025f0b965f77874b5fd3738d6c6 https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10360693_792933224114656_3638590240397662185_n.jpg?oh=76a9d9f10439490a72eda5ab0e9fc221&oe=5579C261
  6. Combe is a good track, quite bumpy but good. Scrutineer is an ass Thruxton is nice, smooth and free flowing - very quick, quite a lot of the corners are blind for entry and exits which is fun.
  7. So whats your reading now then? 106db is pretty loud most tracks have an upper limit of 105db Castle combe are very strict on their 100db limit, if its over you are not going out at all. Thruxton track days... well 90db... pretty much a normal road car. Goodwood are better on noise then they used to be as now they run 98db and 105db days, even if you are over its not so bad, they run a 82LAeq per 30 mins. This means the total sound energy over 30 mins does not exceed 82db at any point on the track. So if you are over the 105db you will still be allowed out but when there are quieter cars on track or you will be asked to short shift on sections on where the sound level meters are. I went on a 98db day but my car as static at 102db I was asked to lift off at 3 points on the circuit, in the afternoon a number of people went home so I no longer had to keep it down
  8. Holy HDR !! Shared drives are a PITA, When we were looking for our first house we came across one that had a shared drive. That didn't initially put us off, however looking at the house once next door was home was another matter. That house is still up for sale 5 years later, I kid you not.
  9. updates will be coming soon, I haven't had a chance to get up the workshop so far this week due to other commitments. Doing a lot of work tomorrow night and over the weekend, so will have some updates coming
  10. 2015 Race License arrived yesterday So far we are all go
  11. I have always wondered why this particular car is so "iconic", as its been already said its a UK Auto with some stickers.. To me its just a overrated, stickerbombed road car with a ugly body kit and a sound system. If it was actually a race car (where stickers look the part) well then thats a totally different story. If it was a JGTC car then that would be far far better.
  12. Good luck mate, its so nice to see one being built rather than being broken
  13. Gearbox came out on Friday night and is now with its new owner Now starts the removal of all the flat aluminum panels Here are a couple of pictures of the removal of the old box but its not very exciting. They were taken by my brother hence a little blurry
  14. I did look at Air jacks but its more weight really. I mean they are a good idea and I had some thoughts about it but It would be mean extra kit to carry to a day as well. And for the extra 4-5kg of weight, hmmm well I dunno...
  15. No problems, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?170424-Supra-Track-Car-Project
  16. No, not yet, I have been suffering from a bad neck (i cant seem to turn my head right at all without major pain) also getting the old box out is proving to be a lot harder than once thought due to the flat floor framework, space frame etc. I ended up having to cut a section of the exhaust out due to the above however there was no room for a grinder or electric saw and my exhaust chain cutter didn't want to get through it, so had to use a Junior hacksaw moving at a couple of cm for each stroke... took 3 hours to get through it and it broke about 10 blades... not to mention my arms (as they were above my head) were devoid of any blood... The old gearbox and clutch will be out this Friday as I have my brother coming down to help me due to my neck... New gearbox is being built up at Quaife as we speak, They are going to take some images of the box for the build which I will update when I get them, the box is then going to Chris Wilson to get the Concentric hub bearing setup done (as the bell may need to be machined). While that is being done I am removing all the white aluminum panels in the cockpit, as without the gearbox there it will be easier to fit the new carbon fiber ones. When the Geartronics paddle kit arrives, I will be making the loom and air lines for that and routing it all before the new box goes in. Last thing will be installing the new clutch and box, making a new gearbox support brace, getting a new prop shaft made up and then programming the Paddle shifter kit. So quite a bit of work to do.
  17. There it is... sitting and waiting for me to ride her hard and fast Dirty .... :eyebrows:
  18. Ha, yeah I when I got the lift a few years ago and tried it I was worried about that, luckily when its at full height the BGW is about 10" from the roof line Phew.
  19. Things are so much easier when you have a full height scissor lift https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRwRkjANC1Y Didn't get as much as I wanted to do this weekend done as some helpers didn't turn up. But will continue throughout the week.
  20. I always check my pads after a day at the track. As a matter of course when I'm back, its up in the air and wheels off, check pads for damage/degrading , check calipers, Discs for cracking warping and lines for damage leaks etc. When I whack my foot on that pedal I want to be almost 100% certain I am going to stop.
