Im sure the ECU does control the Autobox. I spoke to Miami GT on this subject when i had a problem with changing up with mine and they said that a ECU re-set may work. And guess what ..... it did !!! Has the problem been sorted yet ?
-
Something i have realised is that when you go 20mph (which i dont very often) it is very noticable, there is a vibration somewhare and it is making a slight noise, however this does not seem noticable from the outside of the car. My rear brakes need to be done but i should not think that this would create a vibration like this. I think i will take it to miami GT on Monday for someone to have a listen and a quick look.

I think it’s awful. They have completely lost the look of the benchmark GTR. Like others have said i think i would have the older R34. Now it looks to european and looks like a 350z mixed with a Audi. Very Disappointed

I had a Similar problem not to long ago with changing up in my Auto TT however this was after a jump start. I resetted the ECU let it relearn and its all ok now. It may be worth a go, as something may have caused a spike or a sudden dip in power that has screwed up the signals in the ECU.

Mainly what has happend is in the middle ear there is supposed to be a free flow of air to maintaine pressure, what has happened is that for some reason i have no flow of air and its created a vacume inside my ear, this has caused the ear drum to turn inside out (very painful) and then over a period of time the void on where the ear drum is supposed to be the body has tried to repair it and created a very think layer of skin over the ear drum and pressing on the ear bones and main nerve running down the side of my face, also to add to that because of the over reaction my body has created what they call a pollip which has grown inside the ear canal

I have just about had enough now Some of you may know i had a car accident in July which invloved my beloved supra tt to be off the road for 2 months (cos i did not want it to be on insurance) now she is back on the road but still in a poorly state (i,e wing not sprayed etc), then in august i get made redundant and well... i still am, now i am running out of money to live on and have no light at the end of the employment tunnel, And to top it, 2 weeks ago i woke up and there was blood running out of my ear, panicing i go to A&E which i spend 6 hours in hospital and after a few tests i hear that i have to go in for an ear operation in which when i am done i cannot work for a few weeks after.... and i only have 1 months money left. Why oh why is it happening ....

Was driving home the other day and i have noticed that the road noise is alot louder than normal and a strange vibration feel on the accelerator pedal, with an odd all i can put it as a medium wirrring sound (but not ahhh its difficult to explain sounds) I can only discribe it this way. It feels like you are driving on the motorway @80mph and driving on the sleep drift detectors on the hard shoulder but about 60% quieter and the sames goes with vibration. I am getting no real vibration through the steering wheel and have just had the wheel alignment done. What do you think it may be ?

Suspension Probs, Cant Part with my 19"s
ManwithSupra replied to veilsideTT's topic in mkiv Technical
one question i have always wanted to ask... why do running 19"'s make the car handle poorly, i mean i have 19"'s and it handles ok (will have new suspension soon to) -
This winter will be the first time i have had a turbo'd car, for the record say at 3'c what kind of power gain will you get it cant be anymore than 3 bhp can it ?? Cos i really did not notice that much of a diffrence from my last car (02 plate civic type r)

As it sounds like rubber on metal I think it may bethe steering gaiter rubbing on the steering shaft. Or like he said you have a pig in there somewhere

So its best to say check the levels and then reset the ecu ?

I have been having a few issues with my car recently and i wonder if anyone can help me with a few questions i have. For some reason under heavy acceleration more often than not the gearbox wont change up 3rd - 4th it would just hit the rev limiter in 3rd unless i eased off the power and then it would change up. Has anyone come across this at all ? I havent had a chance to check the tranmission fluid yet would this cause this problem if it was low ? Also when i started her up this evening she was misfiring until i gave her a little rev and all was ok - what do you think this may be ? A few days ago i had to have my car jumpstarted as the battery was flat and after that my speedo went funny along with some electrics that seemed to have resolved themselves. However does the ECU control the gearbox if so do you think a ECU reset will be useful. Please help as i am getting a little concerned
-
Unfortuantly my battery was flat when i tried to start my car, so i got it jump-started no problem with starting it turned over once and started, the odd thing that happend was my instrument lights were going mad, the speedo was going up and down and the slip control light was flashing. i let it idle for a few mins and everything settled down, then i turned the wheel and the speedo went crazy again, i waited for it to settle down again and then pressed the electric window button, when it wound itself all the way down the speedo went mad again... Is this to do with the battery voltage being low or is it a problem that is not related to the battery.

Not long ago i had a smallish accident wich cost me a new passanger front wing, a new wheel and a fairly large dent being taken out. Now...i am running on 19" wheels which i know makes the supra a little "hairy" in the wet but let me discribe what happened. It was pouring of rain and because of that i was driving carefully, i was coming round a slight bend no faster than 30mph and all of a sudden the back broke away and i ended up in the barrier, the standard traction control took all the control away from me and just cut the throttle which was awful. Now the fact is i have been recommeded the RLTC for the supra and i have seen the reviews and will end up buying one with the controller as well, however, will that "stop" the "Hairy" problem with the Supra being on 19"'s or is it worth spending some extra cash on a full suspension setup and adjustable wishbones etc - some help here would be great. Thanks

Sorry mate feel for you, i have had it happen to me to. Remember the police were probably "to busy" looking through speeding camera film.... beggers !!

I dont know if you guys know but now 4 weeks back i had a smallish accident which is costing me a new passanger wing new rear wheel and some damage repair to the left passenger rear arch... They say it never rains it pours...... I decided to get the car reapired out of my own pocket as i dont want to loose my NCB on my inusrance... all fine and good, the new wing is on and its all hunky dory.... now the problems start, I need the front bumper wing and rear qtr sprayed and repaired, and before i can do this i need to get the car to the bodyshop, before i can do that i need to get another rear wheel, so after sourcing the wheel from the States it fianly arrives 3 weeks later :thumbdown and what do i find..... its the wrong one then at work i get made redunadant and i have been there less than 2 years which is a problem, now i have to get another wheel wait 3 weeks again probably and then get it all fixed up ready to go lol, so in about 4 weeks time (2 months after the accident) i will finaly be able to drive my car I tell you what... i miss driving her..... the first car i have actualy missed driving...lets hope i get another job soon otherwise she will have to go and that will be the worst thing of all. Oh well...

Just noticed today started my car up (it has been sitting for a few days due to waiting for a new alloy to be delivered) and a little cloud of blue smoke popped out the exhaust, and then cleared straight away, i switched the car off and started it again and no smoke came out gave it a good rev and still as clean as anything, now to confirm it wasnt much smoke but enough to make me write this message. Do you think .... 1. its because the car has been sitting there a while ? 2. its because the stems are becoming worn ? 3. Turbo seals ? 4. Dreaded turbo on way out ? 5. Something else (if this then please state what you think) The Engine has coverd 105,000km,
