  2. Any Glass UK Spec headlights, also facelift rear clusters
  3. Sounds like you have air in the system
  4. Thanks chris makes me feel a whole lot better. Although i have to ask would it still be an engine mounting if the sound fades away when taken out of gear?
  5. Can no one help me? Has anyone got any idea's about this what so ever, i am dumfounded... If its the big ends then it will make a constant deep noise and when under load will get louder no matter how many revs - cant be this as the sound goes away over 900rpm when on load or not. Which makes me think its a Sticky valve or Shim problem Or something with the gearbox perhaps the TC has a problem or something... i really could not do with a big bill right now as my wedding is in a couple of weeks :s
  6. Did you manage to find out what this was mate? I think i have the same problem
  7. Ok this has me worried now... 1st check - the knocking does not seem to increase it goes away between 600 and 1000rpm 2nd check fluid levels - gearbox level fluid still red and on the O in hot so thats ok I have discovered its coming from the back of the engine perhaps the gearbox perhaps not, either from the top of the gearbox or the cylinder head the car idle's at 530rpm and when you click it into drive or any gear it dips to about 490-500rpm which is probably to low. The knocking sound is very prounced when it idle's in gear then when you rev it the sound goes away, take it out of gear the sound is still there but fades away and is alot quieter.. increase the revs (not by much say to 1000rpm) and it goes away. I thought i would check the engine oil and its still between the markers (on the higher side of the marker) and have had it replaced not long ago so nice and golden still. I have noticed the sound is only there when the car is warm and down to hot idle, the car still has power and again the sound goes away when driving (sounds loevley and smooth) i am stumped now, if its a bad big end shell then surley it would get louder and deeper when more power is applied. Help !
  8. Ok will do these tests. 1st - Check to see if the knocking increases in sound and freq with the engine revs 2nd - Fluid levels Results after 1pm i hope its nothing serious. Would it be similar to this ... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=73702&highlight=knocking+noise+gearbox
  9. not sure i am going to have to check at lunchtime which will be after 1pm. It dissapears when in drive and i start to move does that help at all?
  10. Not sure how long this sound has been happening as you can only hear it when the fans are off and the radio is off.. basicly when stationary and in drive or reverse i am getting this tocka tocka tocka tocka deep knocking sound, when i take it out of gear its fine no sounds when i drive along it dissapeares as well !! You can hear it outside it seems to be coming from the gearbox i am sure its not coming from the engine. I have no issues with power still very strong, car always starts starts first time, no nocking or ticking sounds on startup and no smoke.... ahhhh help !!

  18. i have had this for years dont have an issue with it and i think its normal, i have checked on other supes in a car park and they have it the same. Does not seem to leak or anything But then i am not sure either now hmmmm.
  19. I managed to get my car on a set of ramps the other day and had a good ol look under the car, mainly at the rear subframe, i looked at the bolts on the underneath and what they are bolted to and i cannot see any fatigue or damage or cracking or anything to worry about (my car is 12 years old)....i think this is a lot of "here say" and no evidence to back it up....im sure this would of happened by now if it were to at least to someone on this or another forum and it would go around supra owners like wildfire !! Im not gonna worry, im gonna replace my bushes all round as this is one thing i did find that needed doing hehe. But bob if your right (which i hope your not) thanks for bringing it to our attention
