  1. My company sponsors the Sports Libre upto 2000cc class at Gurston Hillclimb this year, As others have said you need something light and nimble with a good power to weight. If you are looking in the road going class, then an MX5 would be a good choice, they are a little underpowered however it would be good to learn in, RWD is best as said before. Then when you have the bug go and purchase a Force, OMS Jedi or DJ car
  2. While I do not agree with silly speeds on the motorways or any roads for that matter, we have all pushed the boundaries of these cars on the roads, you would not have bought a Supra otherwise - You're kidding no one if you say you have never explored the farther reaches of the speedo..That said, the speeds he was doing are totally irresponsible for sure, if you want to speed about like then go on a cheap track day - abingdon or something.. (but don't drive like a tit). I too have seen long standing members film their speedo's or runs in their high power Supra's on a "private runway"... bulls*** private runway my ass... looks like a public road to me The thing is people on this forum get behind certain people and they cannot do any wrong, then comment on this guy as a bellend for doing it - one rule for one, one for another.. Now I am not standing up for this guy but there is a load of hypocrisy when it comes to members etc.
  3. Love the project While I am nuts about carbon fibre (trust me I am) for my taste I prefer the standard brightwork on the 240z, Carbon looks a little too out of place. thats just my thoughts though, Looking forward to seeing the results, I love 240z's This has got to be one of my fav's, I would put a black mesh grill in it though.
  4. NTR R3's not ideal for the road, only race really. I mean you can use them for the road but tbh you wont use the features and it would be waste of money. I have R3's on my race Supra and they are simply the best thing I ever added to the car - set up properly of course. Just having descent suspension does not mean the car will handle brilliantly out of the box so to speak, R3's in fact all aftermarket kits need to be set up properly.

Congrats, get some pics up, loads on here like MK3's Welcome to the forum
  6. When I had a road going Supra I never got any stereotyping only nice comments. My track Supra is totally different, I get "Nice car... drifter is it" ... No, no its not. Apart from that, thats it..
  7. Shame I didnt get it exactly on 1m but hey ho - Big forum...
  8. Just the sound is better...
  9. Dont you think its now getting a bit fat around the edges wont be long until its an Audi... Trying to secure the german market now with plush interior and comfort... I have never been a fan of the GTR (R35), the looks dont do it for me and neither does it drive the way a car like that should. I can appriciate the tech in the car, its very good.. but now with its plush leather interior and comfort modes blah blah "hot air" nonesense its just a stones throw away from being a lazy fat Audi.
  10. What are these made out of? Metal wise... Sorry just seen.. Alloy.. Way to soft even despite it being thick wall. You need to use rollcage spec CDS or T45 for anything like this. Maybe also reinforce the top anchor points, there would be a lot of stress going through those in the event of an accident. Small gussets would help massively. I personally would never install a harness bar in a car without it being part of a roll cage. To protect yourself I would say that you should state for off road use only & have some sort of disclaimer in the event of an accident as they dont have the best saftey record. I am also not trying to pee on your parade, however standalone harness bars are simply not that safe. I am just saying make sure you protect yourself if you produce a product like this.
  11. Just do fun basic things, worst thing to do is try to impress with gifts outlandish things etc. Remember you are trying to get to know the person, so do something which allows for talking but something also to take the seriousness out of it, if it calls for it etc. If they find something like that boring then all they are after is a free ride to do some fun stuff at your expense and well not interested in who you are at all. My first date with my now wife, wasn't actually a "date" at all. She had got out of a bad relationship a few months beforehand and she had lost her father unexpectedly a few months before that. She wanted to get to know me, but didn't want a commitment of a "date", so we arranged to meet up had a small bite to eat and chatted in a pub and had a laugh, she said that it was one of the most comfortable nights out she had as there was no pressure as we both knew expectations. After that we did these nights out more and more and then we started doing more fun things together, going to zoo's (she loves animals etc) going to see car shows (She also likes cars) Now we are happily married for nearly 10 years. Of course people are different but I would really test to see if they are actually genuinely interested in you for who you are, rather than free food, activities, shopping... etc. I swear in one of my previous relationships her wardrobe was full of clothes from guys she had duped into buying them for her only for her to dump them when they said no. Luckily I saw this fairly early on in the "relationship" and ran a mile.
  12. No doubt this is a great conversion but that BMW knob looks so out of place on a Supra. Looks like its been added in bad taste like the owner is pretending its a BMW... Like people who put ferrari badges on an Astra or something.. Is there anyway of getting rid of that M on the knob, a bit of black electrical tape, black felt pen??? ... something!!
  13. Watched the Quali... this was more entertaining - http://weknowmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/interesting.jpg
  14. Such a shame [video=youtube;Io-Bby3iWVs]
  15. Im glad its going to be used properly though thats worth the other grand or so hehehe.
  16. You get a great sense of satisfaction when you relieve a car of unnecessary wiring. I remember one of my first cars I bought, I swear there was more aftermarket wiring then the orginal wiring loom
  17. Wow they are going for £6k now!!... blimey I wish I kept hold of my V160 (mechanically sound) . IIRC I sold it for less than £2k and not that long ago either...
  18. Have you thought about going to see the progress in person? Im sure a mate can give you a lift.
  19. Its been a while but I want to replace my TIG welder with a new one wanted to know what peoples thoughts are on current descent models Needs to be AC/DC at least 200amps with pulse and pulse frequency adjustment, slope control etc.. Any good examples at the moment?
