  1. Foor those who want to see, here is a picture of under the car with the center flat floor cover off. https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/14047339_10153993374673802_7081943690130665721_o.jpg
  2. Drag racing isnt quite up my street but may bring the Racing supra if people want to oogle it Gonna start to get it to more events now its finished (well will be by then)
  3. Hey all, Doing some workshop testing on the car today and noticed on my Dash 2 display my EGT was reading odd (started out at 2-3°c when running then popped up to 899°c after a few moments) Looking at the Syvecs software it shows a RED error (too cold) on the EGT sensor and reads 2-3°c for a bit (when running) then suddenly jumps to 899 as well, so I am guessing that is the ECU telling me the sensor is dead. Anyone else had this issue? If so what tests did you do to work out if it was the sensor or something else. Ryan mentioned I should check the continuity on the sensor wires and if there is continuity then the sensor needs replacing. But as I don't want to hassle him too much are there any other tests that I can do, say if the sensor does not have continuity.
  4. We found ours only costs around £15 a month to run @ 38°c even with the use we have. We decided to negate the cost by replacing lightbulbs with LED ones around the house as an when they blew, we now use overall less power than we did before we got the tub I am currently building a small section of our garage (which is next to the tub) into a small heated changing room with a basic electric shower so you can wash the chlorine/bromine off right away. We love our tub
  5. We have a Jucuzzi J345 and its one of single best purchases I ever made, I opted for this one as it has hydrotheraputic jets and seating positions so it targets key muscles and joints. We use it quite often even after 2 years of ownership, probably on average 4 times a week for about 20 mins, great for relaxation, it has a built in Audio which is nice if you want to relax to your music too. Only thing is you have to remember is keep on top of the chemicals and managing your filters. Excuse the wife, this when it was delivered and filled for the first time.
  6. Insurance aside, that is a lovely example. I would be tempted to remove the aftermarket bits and return to 100% stock, keep it looked after and it will appreciate in value.
  7. OK, Either way you look at it, you go on the ring ONLY to drive fast and drive you're cars ass off, right? Not to go somewhere or pop to morrisons or for a nice sunday drive. You go on there to drive fast legally... yes? The BIG difference is that 100% of cars on the ring at the time are people who are using it as a race track not a public road, therefore the risk is higher than that of a normal road, not just because you are driving fast but because of others too... Hell you may be a driving god, but some dipstick who thinks he is Hamilton but has as much talent as a grape could crash into you. Yes you could say the risk is similar on the road, however 95% of people are NOT traveling at race track speeds and not driving the ass off the car.. hence not needing the additional safety over and above the standard stuff in the car. I have seen people who have had accidents when not wearing a helmet and its not pretty, in fact most could have survived if they wore a helmet, there is no getting away from that - that was my reason for mentioning people can die from a 15mph impact, it does not take much to kill you and putting yourself in a situation where there is a much higher risk of something happening at speeds way in excess of 100mph simply means you are an idiot if you don't try and negate some of the risk. It is the RISK you calculate.. what is the risk something will happen with 100% of cars and people going for it with mixed experience verses 95% of people driving normally on a normal road!! Its POLES apart.. The RISK is higher on the ring therefore get a helmet. What you are basically saying is, its like walking into park in an active war zone during a firefight and not wearing anything but your T-shirt and shorts.. and your excuse is "Well its a Park therefore I don't need it"... You getting sarcastic and trying to compare the Ring to a local road going to Morrisons is absolute tosh.
  8. Yeah cos driving to Morrisons is the same as driving on a race track in speeds in excess of 100mph. Good one.
  9. Race National B minimum IIRC, I can check if you like Have you done your ARDS then?
  10. So you are telling me, that not wearing any safety gear when on track, makes you feel alive because you know you might kill yourself. I have seen accidents where peoples heads have burst open from a low speed impact (under 15 mph) because they were not wearing BASIC safety gear like a helmet, can you honestly tell me that they were enjoying driving at 15 mph and it was "challenging" before their head impacted something hard and burst open spilling its contents... I too agree there is a risk in everything we do and a higher level or risk is fun but even so not taking BASIC safety precautions is plain dumb. I mean you would not bungee jump off a bridge if you knew the bungee cord needed replacing You would not let someone off the street that you don't know re-pack your parachute for a jump. You would not get on a aircraft if the pilot openly said I'm not going to bother with pre-flight checks I'm going to leave it to chance. There is risk and there is needless risk, yes more risk equals more fun but there is a fine line between risk and idiocy, life is fragile.. yes have fun but for gods sake don't be reckless with it. I mean even a helmet does not guarantee protection or that it will do you any good in an accident (some speeds and crashes it wont help at all) but for the majority of deaths which are lower speed BFT accidents could be avoided for as little as £50.. isn't that worth it? All I'm saying is that if you don't take BASIC precautions on much elevated levels of risk then you are simply a fool.
  11. Nice! the MX5 sounds so much fun! I have a test day at Goodwood on the 10th August
  12. Helmet not compulsory!! - I think that's completely nuts.. I will be interested to find out what actually caused their deaths (as sad as it is) I would not be surprised if its BFT to the head. I deal now quite a lot in motorsport safety kit etc and after seeing some of the things I have now, I would never venture out on a race track (track day or not) unless you have a minimum of a helmet, cage, harness and a suitable seat. Of course that will never happen as its just too much for someone who wants to take their car around a track now and then and well no one would do it, but at least a helmet.. blimey. Its so sad to lose people on track days, it's very rare it happens but it really does show what can happen if you don't take really basic precautions, RIP to all the people that died and speedy recovery for all injured.
  13. Its not too hard.. (yes mine is only 600bhp but its much lighter than a normal supra) Power to weight on mine is around 478bhp per tonne (based on weight when I bought it - should be lighter now) whereas a full weight 700bhp supra (1490kg) is 470bhp per tonne. Its lively but if its set up right then fairly easy to control
  14. MT Street - Mickey Thompson Streets - Usually Drag tyres. The Magic 1000bhp has been done to death now though and you don't get new buyers really looking to do it as well becuase of the cost (so probably why most are being a bit blah). For the money (£60k+) you could get something else which is less powerful but puts the power down better due to new tech. Most who mod a supra for power opt for 600-700 bhp now, that usually beats 99.9% of stuff on the road..fffing quick but is actually useable on the road and does not cost upwards of £70k (still a chunk of money though) Still its up to you, I think if you want to do it, then do it, don't worry what other people think, you will always get people who question everything you do... believe me I know. If you want to have a 1000bhp Aerotop I say go do it, if you are prepared for the cost and the sheer fact it will be pretty much useless on the road other than rolling runs on the motorway, if that does not phase you then go for it. First thing I would do if you get an Aerotop and go for the power... seam weld the sh*t out of it and put in a weld in rollcage... 1000bhp in a floppy chassis (and the aerotops are bad) would be intresting, not to mention potentially dangerous. Get the chassis sorted first, then the brakes and suspension and then the power... power should be last not the first thing on your list. So many go for big power and leave the rest and well its a death trap.
  15. What is going on... wont be long until everything falls apart...
  16. Cheers, yes testing will be a few weeks away (not long), I have 3 GoPro's going on the car (3 external) and 2 x 360° cameras one inside the car and one on the roof, so there will be plenty of footage. Hopefully it will be a dry couple of days.
  17. Indeed I did, however I like the idea of mechanical stuff, things can be repaired easier at the trackside.
