how about jessie, or megan, or lucy, or jenny! that's what our pets have been called and they "seemed" to suit them!
-
Yo yo peeps! Only me! It's not a competition to see which style you like wins! It's just a curiosity on what type of music supra drivers listen to!!! Been a great thread though - surely you're all with me on that!
-
Consider bouncy castle voted for!

F.A.O Cliff, Trying to point you in the direction of tunes that are doing some interesting stuff in my opinion, try and download the following: Funky house - Blaze featuring barbara tucker - most precious love Tech House - Yoshimoto - Do what you du Hard House - Heavens Cry - till tears do us part Bouncy House - Pitchin 2004 Trance - Thrillseekers - Synaesthasia (think i spelt it right!) If you can't download them on kazaa or similar you will deffo get short mp3 samples of them on http://www.htfr.com or http://www.juno.co.uk They may not be to your taste, but try them at least, they are my fave's for each genre and go down pretty well in a club environment! You obviously do have a good understanding of music patterns if you can recognise house is 4/4 and waltz is 3/3 etc, its just with me dealing with the club/dance/dj scene that we never see patterns other than 4/4, but i agree, in the right situation, other patterns can work well. Let me know what you think of the above recommendations!

It's my poll, i can do what i want!!!
-
i know! i was meant to include it with Jungle but forgot! You can make the new poll if you like!
-
Like i said, only 20 poll options!
-
Good for you Michael! I also tacked a wide assortment of boxes, admittedly those were in mainly the dance genre. I've heard the other types of music, they just don't appeal to me, got nothing to do with being blinkered or refusing to expand my tastes!
-
Depends whether youre referring to the music of old (which i thought was miles better anyway) or the newer material. No, i'm glad i started it! its been hours of amusement all day!!!
-
Alright fella, someone asked the same question on the last poll, generally speaking it goes a bit like this: Hard house - Fast style hard house with an industrial sound, approx 150 BPM Bouncy House - Closest to hard house, but with more of an old skool influence and samples etc. approx 150 BPM Tech House - Newer style of house incorporating more of an electro sound, approx 130 BPM Funky House - Most popular style of house music currently, quite vocal with chunky basslines, approx 120 BPM
-
Prodigy would come under old skool as would chemical brothers.
-
You're obviously another rock fan!
-
Right! Enough is enough! NEW THREAD STARTED SEPERATELY!!!!!!!!
-
Phew! Good job i didn't start a "north versus south" thread! Any of you who were on IMOC at the time would have seen mouse mats flying!
-
John, If you fully read my quote you just posted at the top there, it said underneath, "and that is my opinion" which you have omitted to include, just like youre entitled to have yours too! Also, someone asked if it was an age thing because they'd never heard of they type of genre's i'd listed, therefore i said "I'd say they are mainly listened to by the 18-30 age group i would say" which is a generalisation, of course there will be exceptions such as yourself! I admit i should have included rock in the poll, as i see there are a lot of rockers amongst the board, i forgot all about it, but come on mate can't you see a tongue in cheek comment when you see one?!? chill out & lighten up!
-
I agree with you Steve. Music is music whether it is classical, rock or pop, dance, whatever. But i never said DJ music is the only type of music in the world, i just said can you imagine trying to DJ it! it would be impossible! And just to clear up, earlier on in the thread, when i said i don't consider rock / thrash metal music, that was a very "tongue in cheek" statement, of course its music, but its so unappealing to me, it may as well not be!
-
Not really Supragal. Mainstream dance is mainly chart, cheese and pop (the sort of stuff you get in the top 40) although that can occasionally include some funky house / trance tracks. The other genre's are a lot more underground than mainstream.
-
I'd say they are mainly listened to by the 18-30 age group i would say. Old Skool and bouncy house can be quite chavvy types of music, the rest arent.
-
Good effort! i'm gonna try and make it to this year's Global gathering, but its other side of the country so will probably just end up doing creamfields again. My mate's nite who i sometimes play for is helping to host the main arena - Cream meets Goodgreef.
-
No exactly! You create dance music on a computer, but it's still made up of four beats in a bar like every other type of music in the world! You could print the pattern and call that "sheet music" if you liked!
-
Good lad!!
-
This is true Steve, DJ'ing is mixing music people have already created. I have never said the music you can DJ too is the only style of music in the world, i said "that is the only type of music worth listening to" or driving to, in this thread. And that is my opinion! i hate rock! maybe you hate dance? it doesn't really matter!
-
The above styles are just four subcategories of the parent style of house music which are essential in differentiating each type of music. if you listened individually to each style of music (even if you had many different tracks) you would appreciate they are all very different! For example: Hard house - Fast style hard house with an industrial sound, approx 150 BPM Bouncy House - Closest to hard house, but with more of an old skool influence and samples etc. approx 150 BPM Tech House - Newer style of house incorporating more of an electro sound, approx 130 BPM Funky House - Most popular style of house music currently, quite vocal with chunky basslines, approx 120 BPM More or less, that is WTF that crap is all about!
