  1. Never mind, managed to free it off today.
  2. Yep very true otherwise it will fight all the way.
  3. B@gger, so long ago since I did mine, I'm sure it twisted from the back then pushed through but i'm sure someone will confirm.
  4. If the hex doesnt work I usually either try to bend the metal thing back into shape thats designed to stop the BJ turning or use a small set of mole grips on the shaft. Usually the nut will turn till it hits the rust just giving enough room for the grips to get in. Never had to cut one off yet. Touch wood and all that.

    Oil change

Thats a good oil change, mine takes a whole container bringing it just over half way on the dip stick.
  6. Whats wrong with staying stock?
  7. Just been out to have a nosey and found one of the headlining velcro clips is out of place. Hopefully the cause.
  8. Funnily enough all our roads are dry today and are white with dust. Was taking the Sup for a test drive with the temp boost gauge hooked up and managed to slide round most of this roundabout then tail slide off it in 2nd. Very unusual to do in the dry and took next to no effort.
  9. Well not quite solved but I know whats causing it. For ages i've had one of the worst annoying rattly squeaks from the boot of the car, new rubbers didnt help, silicon grease around the roof spoiler and boot seals didnt do much, fettling with the spare wheel and boot lining did nothing either but the other day I punched the roof lining in frustration and it stopped. Gently pressing the lining in the middle also works LOL. It must be rubbing against the bodywork near the boot somewhere. So if like me dry sounding irritating squeaks from the boot area do your head in try the headlining as I would never have suspected it otherwise.
  10. The patent must be sold on now or something as you can buy them for the old Vee dubs now. I'm sure its around £200 + VAT for a bug windscreen so Pauls price looks really good for the size of it.
  11. Really looking for a rear set as mine are getting to the last 5mm and the drivers side rear is binding constantly now. Also if anyone has a seal kit for the rear calipers. Not wanting to spend too much as shortly I'll be after uk spec all round. Cheers Mike
  12. Yeah, We have a 50" panasonic full high res plasma at work and it wont display one of the computer resolutions. The book will say what range of resolutions the tv will handle in PC mode. If your res isn't supported by PC mode then a PC to HDMI cable should work ok. As long as you have DVI you can convert to HDMI, VGA will only work with the PC port.
  13. LOL, Methanes not good for the ozone layer either:D
  14. Yeah that, alot of new panels dont seem to support a wide range of resolutions unlike the first monitor style panels. Have a play with your graphics card resolution maybe too high.
  15. Think of all the poor asthma sufferers with all that black crap pouring out the exhaust + cant verify it but i'm betting most people who went to test drive a supra were won over by the sound the lovely lovely clean burning petrol makes. I Almost said Diesel is more expensive but seeing as most folk shove Vpower in I guess its six and half a dozen. Anyway compressed air is the future. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7241909.stm
  16. Yip, dexron II stuff even looks like v160 although not as strong smelling.
  17. em, stock 1300 for now apparantly they will take 150hp but drag starts will kill it. Wont go much past 100mph as i'll be running out of revs but should be fun getting there:d If i kill it i have plans for a stronger box with a longer 4th ratio for cruising. We'll see how things pan out.
  18. Fuchs titan atf 3000 from oilman for best part of a year now, no probs to report.
  19. LOL, it happens although i thought the 1641 with dual 40's would have been fairly nippy. I used to be stock 1585cc with twin 34 icts pushing a massive 60 HP:D. This new motor is going to be a little different i reckon, scoobies better watch out or more likely the box is going to fail big style:)
  20. Mind you wont get the long bolt out with the arch liner in place and if its the passenger side you still wont get it out cos of the washer bottle being right in the road.
  21. Loads of work mate but then if you were to think about it all at the same time you'd sicken yourself. You were brave taking on a framehead I've not got the skill or the welder to to that LOL:). Is it still on the road?
  22. Wow, thats an exhaust and a half. Nice bug did the build go smoothly or were you like me being constantly suprised by the amount of rot they can hide? I've always thought about a set of porsche wheels for mine they give a nice wide look. Cheers:) Mike
  23. Cheers:) Really looking forward to it being finished now, shouldnt be too long. I think its gonna scare a few folk with the noise the vid doesn't do it justice.
  24. Hi all, another bit of an update. Its getting there now just a few odds and sods and niggles to iron out. This was after a week of flattening and polishing. Heres the best bit so far, http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v640/mikemajorek/?action=view&current=MOV00076.flv My starter is struggling like feck to turnover the engine but its gets there with two batteries. Apparantly it'll get better once the engine is run in. Anyway its very loud even scared the g/f when I revved it LOL. Cant wait to get it on the road.
