  1. Hows the tensioner pulley looking? The belt surface on mine had worn down quite abit due to the belt slipping.
  2. Cheers for the pics, I reckon that'd look pretty good on the sup. Found a place that sells a flocking kit. Spray on glue then you puff the flocking stuff all over and brush off the excess when dry. I'd imagine you could very easily ruin a pefectly good dash though if your not careful.
  3. With the price of Diesel being more than V power now I know what i'd be getting shot of.
  4. Would have to be an 80's job to have points surely, 90's to have a distibuter cap and electronic ignition, Later models with full ECU. Anyway if it has any of these then yeah I'd check the dizzy cap, rotor, leads plugs.
  5. How long since you last started it? my sup is exactly the same after sitting a couple of weeks. Really dont know what causes it.
  6. Looking good, i would have left the dash rings black or get some chrome ones to break it up a little but looks good all the same. I'd like to see the whole dash done like that but in black leaving the inserts painted black, apparantly its called flocking but I dunno how the finish is achieved.

Disgusting isnt it I'd be in jail if It were mine an I'd caught up with them.

Hopefully not a repost. http://lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=204925 What's the country coming to:(
  10. Me too, I'm spending enough as it is just trying to catch up on all the things I should have done last year plus fixing a couple of surprise failures. Nearly there though:)
  11. Check your coolant levels in the rad and also if there's anything in the expansion tank. Sounds like air in the system but you might have a leak.
  12. Yeah, I did fit a new tensioner yesterday but cant bring myself to throw out the old one yet, spring tension felt just the same on the new one tbh. Those plastic pulleys feel like cheap sh'te.
  13. Hey hey, for 15 years as well. Cant believe toyota wont sell the pulleys separate. Going to see if I can make an ally pulley up for the old tensioner as its too good to throw in the bin.
  14. Ahh, Thanks Chris. Its back on the car now anyway. I'll keep an eye out for a used one in good condition as this ones had it then seeing as it wasnt springing back. Think they're about £70 from toyota.
  15. In the short term, Fix all the brakes, Fix the wheel alignment, Respray front bumper, wings, bonnet, and drivers door, Get the stock wheels overhauled, Get the stem seals done. Long term, Would love a small single turbo, would love to rip out the entire dashboard and send it away for a flocking, Would love an entire respray, Would like the engine overhauled at some point too for piece of mind. Getting ready for a house move is making me want to sell it thats just giving in really.
  16. LOL, with big nasty teeth an all. Yeah gives you a head start on bleeding the new stuff though.
  17. Just while I've got this thread open, might as well post this up, What caused this? Slipping belt?
  18. Ok, I dont think mine is leaking but it's looking like it's gonna sooner or later.
  19. Do you know if you were getting any leaks from it? I'm guessing its a fortune new from Mr T.
  20. 86k on a 93 suppose age and heat must be the main things, just not seen others like it.
  21. This is the boost hose that goes onto the intake from my 93 TT. Not sure whats happened to it but its seen better days.
  22. I'm gonna be doing this shortly as I need to overhaul the rear calipers. I'm planning on using a big syringe and remove as much as possible from the reservoir so I can fill it with fresh stuff before I start bleeding through. Should help anyway. Is there not something you have to be careful of with the master cylinder seals when bleeding or have I just made that up? something like flipping a seal, dunno really
  23. Does anyone know if the little damper on the aux belt tensioner is a gas or oil damper. Removed mine to do the tensioner and its got little resistance and some squidgy noises that are getting better the more I stroke it. Ooh Err.
  24. The cooler will connect to one side of the stat and the normal path for the oil i'e Inlet & Return will be on the other side of the stat. Basically it'll start opening up oil to the cooler once its upto the temp setpoint. When cold it'll just by-pass the cooler returning oil to the engine.
