  1. I recently bought a Toyota one from Whifbitz - about £70
  2. Always park at the top of a hill
  3. Before you do anything check how much the insurance will be for a 17 year old with a modified Supra
  4. I used an M5 stainless hex dome head bolt with nut on the inside
  5. When I swapped mine over I replaced all the original screws with 12g x 5/8" plated hex head self tapping screws then I used M5 stainless nut & bolts to replace the rear 2 screws on each
  6. I've had my Aerotop about 10 years now and yes the front 2 are always coming loose unless you really tighten them (but do not overtighten them!) Link here for bolt change and part number http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?194788-how-to-change-front-aerotop-roof-bolts&highlight=AEROTOP+BOLTS
  7. I had a similar problem - turned out it was the rubber strip that seals between the bulkhead and the underside of the bonnet that had become displaced and let rain water in under the top of the bonnet near the windscreen. Since I resealed it not had any problems
  8. Might be as well to check what plastic they used - things I've printed off with regular 3d printer plastic (PLA) have warped in the car in summer. However, you can get high temperature resistant 3d plastic
  9. Why would you want to cover the vents?
  10. The roof has been sliced off by the fire brigade to get whoever was in there out. Not wishing to be morbid about it but as it caught fire, anybody still in it would have been burnt alive if they had survived the crash before the FB got there. Cant see that anyone in the passenger side would have survived anyway.

    Valuation help

I saw this '98 NA Facelift Aerotop advertised last May for £12.5k I emailed the seller at the time to find out if it sold for that, but got no reply. Ad never reappeared so I assume it must have sold
  12. As Rider says try the supra registry - its based on the original Toyota database of all the VIN numbers http://www.thesupraregistry.com/registry/40/?perPage=100
  13. This is why revolving doors usually have dampers in them - to protect idiots from their own worst enemy - themselves!
  14. Looks fake to me - no blood on the turbo and no blood pouring out of his finger If you want to see something more interesting when you get to the end of the video click on "Guy looses his finger in dangerous toy"
  15. I use Jay cars in Sutton - they let me keep my small number plate on the front as long as the original plate in in the car
  16. According to the Evans Website http://evanscoolants.co.uk/ You can mix water with it in an emergency - however, it looses its advantages the more water you add - so it ends up like normal water coolant and will pressurise the system
  17. The system is fine and clean - its just that without building up any pressure in the system it wont put any strain on the heater matrix so making it less likely to fail in the future - which is a pain if it does. Although I take your point - if you have a problem when out you cant just top it up
  18. Given that waterless coolant prevents any corrosion and runs without any build up of pressure, it is worth changing over to avoid the heater matrix leaking in the future? As we know, heater matrix failure is not uncommon and a pain the arse to fix - so is it worth the £200 or so it would cost to change it over? Also, it never needs to be changed and will help prevent other hoses bursting
  19. I think you will find it will fit, but the 2.5" pipework is usually for the NA which doesn't have as much exhaust to get rid of as a TT which usually has 3.5" pipe (or so) all the way through
  20. Blue car, black wheels - I would go for yellow Black wouldn't show with black wheels, red would clash, blue would have to be a dark blue and gold would just look tacky
  21. I always take the Toyota bolt sequence to be unbolting and when bolting it back I start with the back 2 bolts then the front 2. The reason for this is because the back of the roof has projections that sits into a pair of recesses and the back 2 bolts pulls them tight into position The front 2 bolts pulls the front of the roof down onto a flat surface and doesnt engage in anything. Mine doesnt creak unless the bolts start to work loose.
  22. Yep, that time of the year again! Mine's an NA anyway, and to be honest around here we have so many speed humps, chicanes, speed cameras, learner drivers, old people, congestion, do gooders, jobsworths and dithering idiots, not to mention the missus who thinks the car is too fast anyway, anything else would, quite frankly, be wasted.
  23. No, but I might hammer some nails through the tyres for extra grip anyway
  24. I thought it might be easier the drive around in the snow - not that we get much snow here on London!
