  1. Nice tips. Ive got a top secret kit to go on at the end of the month and this thread (as well as rogues link) will certainly come in handy J
  2. Speaking of installing meters - Ive get an omori triple meter set waiting to go on - they are a mixture of electrical (oil temp, oil pressure) and mechanical (boost pressure). Should I be aware of anything before the install (ie. parts that I may need to ensure a simple installation). Ta J
  3. Actually what JohnA says may quite well be true. I recently changed the plugs on my one and noticed that the tips looked like the car was running a tad lean (bear in mind the car was completely stock at this point). So it could be the 02 sensor wearing out and leaning the mixture. Anyone ?
  4. changing to a colder grade plug will help, especially if you are running more than stock boost pressure. Ive recently upped the power on my supe and can definately notice a slight hesitation around 4000rpm (when no. 2 tubby kicks in). Thing is, in my auto, it feels like the gearbox is going to drop out and hit the floor when the hesitation happens. J
  5. Id be up for a NW meet too, depending on time/location as the supes in the garage at the moment (and will be for a few weeks).
  6. Do Elephant not insure modded vehicles ? Do insurers hike up premiums exortionately for a car with only alloys and full aero kit ? Half the JDM imports Ive seen all have mods in some form or other so some insurance company must be willing to provide competitive insurance for modded vehicles. Whos the cheapest for modded vehicle insurance these days ? J
  7. Ive got a PE double row to go on, cant wait J
  8. Ive just fitted a greddy front strut tower bar and RS*R to the rear on my one. Real easyto do, just bolt on and away you go. One PITA thing about the greddy one is that its a tight fit, which is making it touch the stock air intake pipe more than I would have liked. I like to have as big-a-airflow as possible and the greddy one might be causing a slight restriction in that area. J
  9. Mines an auto and I luuuuuuuurv it ! and I dont miss a manual one bit. However, if you want to run huge amounts of power, then 6spd getrag box will handle it much better than the 4spd auto which Ive been told needs upgrading at around 500hp.
  10. he he, If you've ever made the journey from Yokohama Bay bridge through to Tokyo Rainbow bridge then onto the center of the city, you will see why the auto box is popular in Japan Think yourselves lucky our UK roads are not as 'tolled' too(!) Personally, I think the supra 4spd auto is a fantastic box. Ive driven manual cars for years and before I bought my supra, I dreaded the thought of an auto box as it might take the fun out of the driving, but I was completely wrong and certainly dont miss a manual tranny. Besides, If I crave an manual, I just borrow the other halfs shopping car. J
  11. Ive given it some thought (!) - decided to buy the 264/264 cams for now. Im looking into a single turbo kit - A greddy T88 looks to be a good kit to buy, albeit Im not too sure the 4spd auto box can handle it - anyone any ideas ? J
  12. Ive heard a lot of ppl use the walbro item. Im thinking walbro 255, PE 650cc injectors and greddy e-manage or Apexi s-afc II piggy back. J
  13. I considered the cams as Ive been offered a set through my contacts in Japan along with a pair of greddy adjustable pulleys. Thought they are worth snapping up as the price is right, and would fit them once I find a suitable turbine upgrade kit and not before. I know what you mean by running 256/264 spec, as on turbo cars the intake side is already taken care of via the turbo. I can either hold out and wait soem 256/264 to come up for grabs, or snap the 264/264 ones up. decisions, decisions (!) J
  14. Hi How much power (rwhp) can the standard 4spd A/T box handle without risking any damage ? Ta J
  15. Who does the best hybrids in the UK ? Are they worth buying as Ive heard bad reports that hybrids dont give that much power over standard and because of they way the wheels are clipped, they dont last long. Any info much appreciated J
  16. Hi Is it necessary to change the fuel pump (255 l/h) + injectors (650cc) to reach 380rwhp? Ive got a jspec 93TT A/T Any info much appreciated J
  17. How much power will 264/264 cams give a standard spec supra ? Just curious. J
