I know someone who knows who the stig is. But he wont tell either. Apparently sworn to secrecy, lol. Apparently its no one famous (or at least who you would expect to be the stig).

I have a set on my supe. Straight forward 'plug and play' installation.

moving over the GTO's did anyone see this one ? http://67.59.137.58/images/other/img_0289.jpg front bumper was a tad on the long side for my liking.....

oh, if that grey car is meant to be a replica of the Sard Japan Mr2 race car, I think they looked at the photos upside down or something, lol

Heres a couple of pics I took of the nice purple TRD widebody MR2 http://67.59.137.58/images/other/dsc01861.jpg http://67.59.137.58/images/other/dsc01862.jpg Jase

Back from JAE Guys in Japan have come back with this translation:- Top line = Tell the truth of this war. Bottom lines = Saving from enemy line. (althought the grammar on this one sounds a little off, maybe its saved from enemy line or something similar?) Regards Jase

Hullo Ive sent the image over to my friends in Japan. Will keep you posted on what it translates to when I get back from JAE. Jase

I think you made the right decision mate. Hes taken advantage of your good nature and the friendship that both of you shared. Lifes too short to be unhappy if you ask me Good on yer pal. Jase

If my cars out of the garage in time, I will be up for meeting at the Mascrat Manor. Otherwise I will have to give it a miss as there is no way the missus' clio can keep up with you guys Jase

My comment was a err'ing on the comical side and wasnt actually intended to be taken seriously. :0 On a more personal and serious note - Ive removed both de-cats and have a very free flowing exhaust. Under heavyload, the boost shoots very quickly to 1.25 bar. Fitting a restrictor ring to bring the boost down to safer levels is necessary. Im going to bring mine back down to 0.9bar or so and then use the controller to raise it to whatever pressure I require. At the moment, the profec isnt doing jack as it can only increase the boost. HTH J

My apexi gt spec front pipe is 75-80mm bore, the blitz middle pipe looks to be around 80mm at sight, all coupled up to an Apexi N1 rear section which measures 85-95mm bore. On a turbo car, the quicker you get the exhaust gases out, the better IMHO. Who cares about boost creep, fit a boost controller to help control the boost and an TRL VFCC to raise the fuel cut limit and give you some overboost protection and away you go. Just make sure youve got plenty of fuel and the sparkies are a grade colder

Cheers for the offer Nic and for everyones help, but Ive already settled on my original choice of kit. Im in a daring mood today

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not a big fan of Tein. Im sure they work great when bought brand new, but out of all the Jap imports that come over here with used coilovers on, its the people using Tein that seem to have suspension rebuilding on their shopping list. Just my 2p on that one. Also, I like to try (when I can) something different and not use what everyone else is using. It can be a bit boring going to car shows and seeing that everyones done the same mods etc. etc. Any advice on spring rates then ?
-
I will shortly be trialling a Jap manufacturers new 'budget' set of coilovers (750 quid all in so musnt grumble). The spring rate they recommend is 18Kg 12kg. I know theres much harder springs than this, but am interested in hearing anyone elses views on what spring rate is acceptable for fast road use without requiring replacement windows everytime one goes over a coin in the road. I want to improve cornering and handling over the stock JDM spec Bilstein setup without remortgaging All feedback welcome.

Ive recently had both cats removed via an apexi front pipe, blitz middle pipe. Which hooked up to the already fitted Apexi N1 rear muffler. The difference in performance (and a little extra noise) is very noticeable. The cars eager to accelerate in any gear and boost comes on strong. Ive had a TRL VFCC fitted and it hasnt fuel cut yet (I believe the VFCC is set to 1.2-1.25 bar overboost protection). Straight away, after fitting the fully decatted system, I did a test run with a temporarily fitted mechanical boost meter. When putting the car in manual A/T mode, 2nd gear did see some major boost creep, up to 16psi or so, but only when flooring the gas. Under moderate, 'busy street' style driving, there was no boost creep. Other mods fitted are Greddy I/C, PE air filter kit, HKS SQV, Greddy plugs (stock grade) Im going to fit a permanent boost guage, boost controller and walbro pump in the morning and hopefully get the car on the dyno for her first set of power figures. I may change the plugs to some NGK grade 7's too.

If it helps, send over the mines ecu to my office in Japan and I can arrange for it to be taken to Mines to check the data on it for anyone who wants to use it. Mines would more than likely charge for this service though (do the Japs ever do anything for free!) LOL J
-
Speaking Ecu's, whats the best budget option for a 93 TT A/T ? Most ecu's Ive seen are for manual cars only. I was speaking to Junichi at Jun in Tokyo in March and he recommends the FCON V PRO, and can remap it to suit A/T cars no problem. Albeit the map isnt 100% finished as you still have to adjust it to suit each cars mods. I was interested until I heard the price for the ecu (!). E-Manage seems the way to go for thos with A/T cars on a budget ecu swap. ?? J

Cheers mate Ive just mailed them on their single turbo kit which is available in June. J

Hi Guys Im looking into buying a Greddy T78 turbine kit. I have the following engine modifications to my 93 TT A/T:- Greddy FMIC Apexi front pipe Blitz middle pipe Apexi N1 muffler Power Enterprise air cleaner HKS SQV Greddy profec B2 boost controller running 1bar Greddy Iridium plugs Power Enterprise double row radiator Custom tranny cooler. Sard breather tank Greddy oil catch tank Greddy oil filter relocation kit with Power Enterprise oil filter Earls braided water line Walbro 255 litres per hour fuel pump TRL VFCC HKS 264 cams with Greddy pulleys Im currently on stock ecu, stock turbos, stock engine internals, stock JDM spec injectors, stock A/T transmission. I aiming for 500 fwhp. Would this be possible running the T78 on relatively low boost and on the stock components listed above ? Ive no plans to change the engine internals as Im quite confident the supra stock internals can hold up to my requirements. As of yet I havnt had my car dynoed. Any ideas on whether a T78 would be overkill or not is very much appreciated. (basically after a turbo which gives the power I want without stressing itself and the engine). Cheerio J
-
Ive got some HKS 264 cams to go on with Greddy pulleys. How much extra gg's should I expect to get (based on a bpu++ spec) J
-
For those wanting to make life quicker and easier when it comes to the oil filter changes, fit a greddy relocation kit. Makes filter changes a breeeeeeeeeeze I can tell you. Oil+filter changes every 2500 miles are now something I look forward to, LOL J
-
I use either optimax or BP Ultimate and average around 20mpg (non-motorway miles). J
-
Ive got apexi front pipe, blitz middle pipe and apexi n1 rear muffler, all pretty much decent size bore pipework, its got a nice cruising note, but is not that loud IMHO.
-
I will be fitting a greddy cooling panel to my supe this weekend. I already have Greddy FMIC and soon to be fitted Power Enterprise double row rad. J

I think the later spec stock rims where 8J 17 +50off and the rears 9.5J 17 +50off J
