  1. This was all done to Toyota specifications, which were available on the system (Hawk Eye if I remember correctly). The techie said that everything was easily adjustable on MKIV Supras - what he did do was chase down the numbers around the whole car to get each reading where he wanted them. I watched over what he was doing the whole time. Stuff like this doesn't happen on the usual front-rear alignment setups - go to a specialist (another one was mentioned just recently).
  2. Just an update, as I don't like finding unresolved queries on the forum. Thankfully, it was neither the tyres nor the suspension. I thought the easiest (and cheapest) thing to eliminate first was the alignment. Having explained the handling issues with the technician and looking at the readings, we came to the conclusion that it would explain the unstable behaviour when hitting bumps especially when turning right. A good 45 minutes (nothing was seized) and few adjustments later, and the car is now handling much closer to what I'd expect from a good driving experience. Note, that the car hasn't been in any arguments with the kerb since I've owned it. Worth checking even if you haven't had any noticeable problems. I've also replaced the rears with a fresh set of ZZ3s for sake of the journalist in me - so far, so good. Thanks for everyone's help.
  3. Driver's side please Ray. PM me your details EDIT: Hang on, what's that mark towards the rear of the card dude?
  4. Interested pending condition and photos...
  5. Totally understand where you're coming from. I've even contemplated moving onto something else like an NSX or a 'vette, what with all the maintenance of the Supe as it reaches its tipping point. I keep investing in it to keep it sweet, and the love for it is becoming more and more jaded. BUT. I know everything I do for the car is a positive thing - new wheel bearings, new rad, new suspension boots, new screen, new thermostat, new coilpack clips, etc. These things just breathe new life into a hunk of metal that I can look back at after parking and still be proud that it runs perfectly even after doing enough miles to circle the planet four times.
  6. I've still got the same one since we both joined in '05... am I doing something wrong? Welcome back mister.
  7. Thanks guys. I do check my pressures every time I fill up, so it'll be something else. I'm probably overdue a good alignment session anyhoo - and there's a place in Wembley that'll report on the condition of suspension components too. Funny thing is that the handling was spot on around the Alps (as far as my arse-geo sensor could tell). Perhaps something like a single damper has gone awry. Bugger. Will check the studs too.
  8. There is a classified section on this very site, I highly recommend you sign up to have a look at some quality examples in there.
  9. I've come to notice that the car seems squidgy, exhibits tramlining and is a little unstable/skippy (techy I know) around bumpy bends. The worry here is, that I might be blaming the tyres while something else might be wrong. These are on UK17"s, all round. I had AFR torque up the subframes this week, so that's been eliminated as a cause. Other than checking all the suspension components (currently all stock with factory yellow billies) and going for a proper alignment session, could the tyres be causing these kind of handling issues? I've read on here that ZZ1s were a joke - and now wonder if the same faults apply to the ZZ3s. What are your thoughts?
  10. Double decat, you need to look at the flange to the right to determine if it's UK or J-spec. Yaha.
  11. PM me your address Jamesy, and I'll reply with PayPal details.
  12. Just got my copy from Amazon/Futureplay today. Having played it for a couple of hours (obligatory perving at Maggie Q inclusive ), I don't think it's for me. I much prefer the likes of Gran Turismo over arcade action. I payed £36.97 delivered. As it has been opened, it's yours for £30, providing you're in the UK. If you want to collect, I live in SW15 and work in Soho.
  13. Nice. What'dya reckon - shall I put it to the boss and get some for the office?
  14. As Nic says, that's more than likely to be your bearing. If you have to, don't drive it at speed as there's a chance that it may seize up. A good Supra specialist will be able to source the bearing and any associated parts from Toyota, and spend about 2-3 hours putting it right for you.
  15. Give your local Toyota a call before you visit Terry. The last time I had to replace those components (anti-rattle spring, anti-squeal shims etc), they had to order them in. HTH, B
  16. Awesome. Like a billion hotdogs. Thanks Col.
  17. Host the pictures on photobucket Bo, and post the links here.
  18. Unfortunately no, because it's for work. I'll have to slum it and share the boss' Cerbera. I'll be going that way before hitting the Ventoux hill climb... there's a great photo opportunity from the village below too. I do love the quality of French tarmac, smooth, quiet and often freshly laid every couple of years around the Alps. That'll be me who took a trip through the St Bernard pass.

  20. 6. Technical & demanding roads that I've come to know well, so that I can have fun without the uncertainty of what lies around the corner. Like the A272 between Milford & Lewes, or the French Alps.
