  1. No way! The peoples club rules! (only posting so I can see my new trophy really )
  2. Thanks Keron and Dragon James and Sab....... nothing wrong with mk2 GTi's....I think they're quite cool! Would prefer RWD, but for a £1k runaround they're ok!
  3. thinking I might get a mk2 Gti as a runaround anyone know of any good forums? actually, does anyone know anything about them too?
  4. Nope, looks like a particularly neat job though. Like I said, must be the work of London!
  5. You'd be amazed at the amount of minor RTA's that the roof has to be removed on - it's all that health and safety and 'claim culture' bollox. Really annoying when it's obvious they're faking injury to get a payout, but it's pretty funny when the roof comes off, cos they don't expect THAT to happen when they say "ooo, my neck hurts", but they can't exactly back track at that point without looking really stupid! I feel sorry for the chap in this case though as he was just being a good samaritan - if it were me I'd be giving the other guy something to really complain about! Looks like a neat job they did though.....must be LFB

  7. Yeah, there's just none right at the moment that are quite right for me, and I need a car fairly sharpish cos I haven't got one at all at the mo! Don't really wanna rush into buying a supe that ain't quite right, and besides, I quite like the idea of having a tail happy 325 to have a laugh in but not really care what happens to it!
  8. I've heard good things about the 318iS though - apparently it's got a 16 valve engine which pushes out about 140bhp, so it's meant to be pretty quick.....I've heard it refered to as a baby M3 before. Having said that, I''d definitely prefer a 6 pot 325i Sport....... Speaking of which, I've just had a quick look at the one I mentioned earlier. Haven't driven it or looked at the engine, so I can't comment on it's mechanics (not that I'd know anyway - gonna get a mechanic mate to have a look for me if I go back), but it's very tatty. I don't really care tbh cos it's cheap and I don't plan on keeping it too long - just wanna have fun driving it BUT there is a fair amount of rust. There's a bit on the body around either door and a fair amount of bubbling in various places, but the rear arches are really bad, especially the N/S. Is this a major problem? I've heard of people cutting the rust out and welding some metal in place, but is that expensive? How bad does the rust have to be before it starts affecting the MOT? Please forgive my ignorance people, I AM trying to learn!
  9. Damn James, I told you not to try doing jumps and sliding the rails. Walk before you run!
  10. Yeah, I thought that too, but I reckon a beemer should be more reliable than most other cars of similar age? It's only really a short term measure anyway....
  11. Moi? Of course not (well, maybe a couple of bruises). My mate did fracture his wrist, but that was his own fault cos he decided to hire a snowboard for the last day despite never having ridden one before Did you really have to have an x-ray?! Told ya snowboarding hurt!
  12. Yeah, thanks Paul.... Not really bothered about the age Jamie, just want a cheap, reliable car I can have fun in for a bit and not really care what happens to it (need to learn how to drive RWD on the edge too ). I was thinking either a 318iS or a 325i Sport......
  13. Ooooh, teachers pet eh? When are we doing the MK meet then James, I wanna carve you up on the slopes
  14. Well, it's hard going trying to find the right supe, and as I've sold my car now I need to get a cheap runaround for about a grand to get me around for a bit. Probably gonna go for an E30 BMW cos they're cheap and supposedly fun to drive, just wondering if there was anyone out there who's had one before or is a bit of an expert who can tell me what to look for when I look at one (bearing in mind I'm not exactly what you'd call mechanically minded!) I've seen a 1987 325i Sport for £995, totally standard, last owner for 15 years - does anyone know anything specific about these models? Seems a bit cheap to me....The mileage isn't mentioned in the ad, so I imagine it's astronomical, but I didn't really think that would be a major prob for a 325 Failing any experts online.....anyone know any good BMW forums? cheers chaps
  15. Looks very much like Keely if I'm not mistaken
  16. Did they fcuk! They actually lowered it cos it needed new tyres, which is fair enough I suppose cos that'll come to about £500! Still feeling ripped off and sad though...... Cheers Si.......any chance of a spare million or so too, so I can run it as it deserves! I'll try to have a good time in france, I suppose.......
  17. I can dream can't I? Actually, I'm a bit sad at the moment cos I was forced to essentially give my car to Ford a couple of hours ago, so be nice
  18. Shhhh, he's selling it to me for £6500 when I come back from france!
  19. No fire engines? Can't have been that bad then Probably good you didn't see the accident really Bobbeh - I've seen roads closed for pretty much no reason I could imagine. I swear the police sometimes close roads just because they can
  20. I only saw this once briefly and I thought it looked nice then Si, but OMG! That's the nicest supra I've ever seen! Can I afford to increase my budget even more.......? I take it this means you decided not to sell to that dude at the traffic lights the other month then?
