  1. I'm up for that - just name a time and we'll be there!
  2. And this . . Main Entry: speed freak Function: noun : one who habitually misuses amphetamines and especially methamphetamine Oops!!
  3. petrolhead /petrlhed/ noun (BrE, informal) a person who is extremely enthusiastic about cars and driving, especially fast cars and motor racing, and who does not want to use any other sort of transport: Will petrolheads ever leave their cars? We are a petrolhead society. Speed may thrill petrolheads, but many pressure groups are keen to point out that it kills too. This new car will set any petrolhead’s heart pumping, and there is little doubt that it will sell. To drive your choice of top motor would be petrolhead heaven. Petrolhead is an example of a compound noun, which is a noun that is made by combining two other words (in this case the nouns petrol + head). Like the words crackhead, cokehead and soccer-head, it describes addiction to or great enthusiasm for something. Another similar word is Motörhead, the name of a famous heavy metal band.

    Free Heater

Mine just turned up!!! Kicks out a lovely bit of heat!!
  5. As an ex-BMW driver it does make me laugh when people pigeon-hole every BMW driver as arrogant or pompous - I had the car because I loved the way it looked, loved the way it sounded and loved the way it drove (it was an E36 325i Coupé - 192bhp model - and I don't know if that was at the wheels, hubs or bloody stereo so don't start on that one again!!) and, as with any car I've had, I like to beam from ear to ear when I look at it out of my front room window - that for me equals great personal satisfaction. I don't give a rats ass what others think of my choice of car (or watch [don't wear one as I don't care what bloody time it is] or clothes or house) - if people judge others by those standards then they would drown in a puddle. When people make stereotypical statements such as 'all BMW drivers' it just shows that they are incapable of an original thought, instead happy to jump on the bandwagon and go gormlessly on without using their own brain. Right, soapbox away!! Besides, Merc drivers never get out of the way!!!! Often because they are dead at the wheel!
  6. I didn't estimate the figure as I have no idea how to calculate it!! The guy on the stand said there was 290.1bhp at the 'hubs', tapped a few keys and said that's about 350 at the flywheel. As I said before, I'm only telling you guys what was told to me, not trying to look clever by making overstated boasts.
  7. Are any of you guys off to Santa Pod on the 9th Oct? We could do a mini-meet beforehand and drive down in convoy. What d'ya think?

    We own MK3's!!!

Brukt priser? Tja, hvem vet?

    We own MK3's!!!

They're the 2 1982 Celica Models (according to the book) which "share its bodyshell from the firewall back with the Supra . . inside the Celica looks like a Supra that's survived a gadget-bypass operation . . . new Celica uses a 2.4 litre, 96hp engine . . 25mpg"

Says Steve Sutcliffe at the top - didn't he used to write for 'Car' magazine way back? Looks like an old article too.
  20. A little bit of internet checking throws this up . . . L36APM - Toyota Varina E 92 GLi - what happened to the Supe then? L63BPL and L64BPL - not found L65BPL did come back as a Toyota Supra so she must be out there somewhere N709PPJ - not found P50PRA - Volkswagen Golf MK3 GTi Oh well!
  21. Are these cars still around? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just bought a really good book on the history of the Supra from Sandown charting the history from them there early days way back when perms were cool and the Flock of Seagulls were still shit! It gets to the MKIV and there are a few UK cars featured in replicated articles from the day and I was wondering if anybody on here owned these cars today (all UK cars) . . . 1) L36APM 2) L65BPL 3) L64BPL 4) N709PPJ 5) P50PRA Just interested to see if they're still alive and where they ended up! And L63BPL as well!!
  22. Part of the reason we acknowledge each other is part of the reason we're all members of this forum - we love our cars and like to belong to a 'club' with like-minded people who share our desire to own a true piece of engineering excellence. When we raise our hand to each other its like saying "I know, its fantastic isn't it. Great choice!". I used to own an MGB GT and owners of those would do the same thing except when we waved it was more to say "Bloody hell, you actually got to be inside it and not underneath it today - result!" Yes we're individual but we do all have Supras (Suprae, Supri, Supratus-a-um, to quote another thread!). And if someone doesn't wave back - who gives a bugger, you still own a superb car that most people still lust after. Enjoy it and chill out!
