  1. If you don't mind dropping down to a 40" tv I can certainly recommend the Samsung LE40F71. LCD, 1080P, 2 HDMI inputs, plus scart, etc, USB output (for a USB printer or something), will accept 9 memory cards so you can view and print pictures via your TV. You name it, it's got it. The HD picture is STUNNING (when watching BBC HD, etc) and I've managed to get a damn good upscaled SD picture on it too. Watching upscaled (1080i) dvd's is superb as well. Costs around £1200 (from Amazon et al), so you'd need to spend more on a stand and surround sound. I'm looking for a 2.1 system at the moment (as the tv sound is pretty awful - but that's it's only downside). The AVForum has been linked to - a LOT of them rave about this tv.
  2. I am sorry to announce that Bolney 2007 has been cancelled. This evening Lex received a call from the pub (who are under new management) and they have informed us that we cannot have the meet at their pub anymore. I personally do not know of another venue that can cater for the number of cars / attendee's that we usually see, and therefore we have very little choice to say that the meet will no longer go ahead. My apologies.
  3. I believe so Jamie. Unfortunately, we'd already put this date forward to the pub a while back and we were just waiting for confirmation that it was ok. Lex spoke to them today and that's the date they confirmed. It's unfortunate - as I know plenty of you guys have been very supportive of Bolney over the years, and I enjoy having a nosey at the Supra's on the day. I'm sure the bulk of you will be going to Santa Pod - which I have no doubts will be a fantastic event for you all. Those of you who are not going to Santa Pod are very welcome at Bolney - and we'd be pleased to see you there. I'm very sorry over the clash of dates. Cheers, Daz
  4. I'm pleased to be able to say that Bolney has been arranged for Saturday 21st April. The theme for this year will be "Old 'n' New". I'll post up all the information regarding the meet in the next day or two, but I wanted you all to be able to make a note of the date. Ta ! Daz
  5. Lex and I are still waiting to hear from the pub to confirm the date and to see if they'll meet our "request" (basically to do with keeping the area tidy as we had some complaints after last year). As soon as the pub have confirmed things up then we'll be ready to announce everything - including the "theme" for this year. We've had a few different ideas, but we've settled on one now (to keep things fairly simple). The details will get posted on JapUKMeets very soon (or once I've got my ass into gear and written up the details !) and then I'm sure the info will get posted on the various forums. Good to see plenty of interest and I'm extremely pleased to see that Envy will be attending. Daz
  6. I'm very much a learner .. and was having lessons until my instructor decided teaching guitar was taking up too much of his time and was effecting how much time he spent doing his "real" job. Anyway, he sold off a lot of his stuff (just kept the guitars he'd purchased from his late instructor). I bought of them and an amp. Here is what I have .... AMP FIRST : It's a Line6 Flextone II ... GUITAR : 1978 Gibson Les Paul Standard (ebony) ... I could just keep on posting pictures ... just wish I could play as good as it looks !
  7. I got a new one through the door today.

    Go Liverpool!!

As a Liverpool fan I'm obviously over-the-moon that we've won, but I really do feel for West Ham. They played superb today and they can hold their heads high.

    Go Liverpool!!

I keep having to walk away from the screen ! lol ! Thank god Gerrard stepped up to get that equaliser !
  10. Supradibbs should have the details Branners ... but basically, display cars need to be there for 9:30am ish so that we can get them all parked up, etc before everyone else arrives. I know it's a bit early, but it just means that we aren't trying to filter cars out as everyone else arrives - as it tends to be the case that most convoys arrive about the same time. Daz
  11. Make that 9:30 :D (sorry for the early start) Daz
  12. Sorry for the slow response. If we have extra space available once we've set the display area up then we'll be hand picking a few on the day. Your Supra looks stunning ... so I'll try and keeps my eyes peeled for when you arrive. Daz
  13. Yep - got yours down correctly 'dibbs. It's one of the MLR ones I've got down wrong, plus I'm missing a couple (where Lex arranged a couple of cars). Will get it sorted ASAP (I need to get it sorted ASAP as I'm not going to have any net access for some of next week. ). Daz
  14. Hi guys, To keep you updated..... Just waiting for a couple of email addresses to be resent (as they are invalid addresses) and then i'll be sending out the details. Cheers, Daz
  15. Hi guys. Sorry for the delay in getting a note out to the 2 guys who will be in the carpark. I've been holding off in hope that some of the other clubs would get their acts together and sort out 2 cars ... unfortunately it hasn't happened. I'll be sending out a note to everyone who'll be in the carpark in the next couple of days. Those clubs who still haven't sorted out a couple of cars will be missing out and Lex (from JapUKMeets) and I will be hand picking a few extra cars to be on display. Hope that clarifies things a bit. Sorry to be taking so long. Daz
  16. We didn't do this last year - as we had a GT Battle display area instead. The last time we did this was 2 years ago - and it proved to be very successful - so we thought we'd do it again. The 2 MR2's are chosen and the 2 cars from the GTR Register are now chosen. Tomorrow we'll have the 2 supra's, and the other clubs should be letting me know their cars ASAP. Hopefully this will work out again this year (fingers crossed). Daz
  17. Neo - that is the idea.... BUT.... From the pictures I've seen, the cars that are going to be included in the poll could quite easily fit under both categories - as they are all Beasts and Beauties ! The GTR Register poll is very similar .... Daz
  18. Branners - don't worry too much about trying to fit the cars into the categories. From the pics i've seen of the cars they fit into both categories. Daz
  19. Cheers mate. The "kewlest" thing I've been given at this point is a 1:18th scale R32 GTR (which just happens to be exactly the same colour as mine ).
  20. Taken from http://www.chipsaway.co.uk .... To locate a local operator of ChipsAway in your city or town please call: 0800 028 7878
  21. There are a few in there I wouldn't mind trying out.....Sarah Michelle Gellar ( ), Homer Simpson and John Cleese
  22. Hi all, There is a JapUKMeets gathering at Boxhill in/nr Dorking this Saturday .... from around 2pm-ish onwards. Most people have been before so i'm sure you all know what it's normally like. There's not been much "advertising" about it ... so I thought i'd put up a thread. Daz
  23. I have a Mio 168 ... great bit of kit for Sat Nav stuff. No extra wires for the GPS receiver as it's all built it. Just plug the power cable into the cigi lighter and you're away.
  24. There's a freebee downloadable Post Code search add-on for Tom Tom 3 ... as far as I can remember, there was no Post Code search in version 3 ... (as taken from pocketgps world : "FULL UK POSTCODE SEARCH!! Yes that right for the first time in TomTom Navigator 5 we have built in 7 digit postcode searching."). Here's the post-code add-on for Tom Tom 3: http://www.digitools.co.uk/ukpostcode.php#instr Daz
