  7. I've sent a reset password email to the address on their account.
  8. If you've tried using the contact us option in the last week your message probably didn't get through. I've fixed that now so if you have used that option, or emailed the club directly, and haven't had a reply then please try again.
  9. It's not for want of trying. But it isn't going to happen I'm afraid. It's not a case of it not working because of error xyz. All of the individual bits that make up Tapatalk work. They all pass their built in tests. Nothing errors. No clues whatsoever as to why it doesn't work. I've spent over 8 hours trying to figure it out. I know it's probably related to us being protected by cloudflare now but none of the "do this and it'll work again" fixes on Google or Tapatalk own site have worked. So it's game over. Given the choice between Tapatalk and cloudflare protection, cloudflare wins. Given the choice between spending more time trying to fix Tapatalk and working on the new forum... Tapatalk loses.
  10. Given the number of pubs that are closing again due to Corona virus outbreaks just days after re-opening, I'm not sure trying to organise such an event right now is advisable. If anyone wishes to attend then remember you do so at your own risk. Stay safe people.

    But you've just posted...
  13. I'm officially removing Tapatalk support from this site. I've wasted hours trying to get it working again and that time should have been spent focusing on the upgrade. I do appreciate that some people used Tapatalk for an easier mobile experience. All I can suggest is to try the default mobile theme available from the drop-down at the very bottom left of every page. The new forum we're testing is fully responsive and so shouldn't need external apps like Tapatalk to function nicely on a small mobile device.

    site HTTPS

It is work in progress. There is a very legitimate reason why this hasn't happened already, and hopefully before the end of the week I can tell you all why.
  15. Off topic was removed from the search results on purpose. For sale and off topic were pruned back on purpose. The same as I've always done them, even if not for a long while. Delays between searches were added on purpose. I was hoping that if everything settle down with the server then I could reverse the search changes. But from what you guys are saying, it's still all broken, even though I've not witnessed it happening for a couple of weeks now. And the never ending backups, which were a symptom of server problems, hasn't happened recently. Last nights ran in just over an hour and a half, at 3am in the morning so I doubt that affected many UK members. So when are people experiencing site unavailable problems now?
  16. Looks at my Supra rotting away in a barn... closes this thread in a huff.
  17. I can't find any payment for your username or email address. Please PM me the Paypal reference number and I'll take a look.
  18. Looking at the load spike right now which seems to be originating from China, and noticed that the anti-spam tools we use have blocked over 16,000 registration attempts by spammers in the last 24 hours. Sorry if that means someone has missed out on a bargain Viagra offer.
  19. Then I'm going to have to put in place more sophisticated measures to stop the flood of requests the server is receiving. Just look at the top viewing stats on the main forum page: Most users ever online was 13,335, Yesterday at 17:34. At least the site now recovers automatically.
  20. The server too busy message is a good thing. It means the changes I made to protect the server are at least working.
  21. I've been having a tidy up as part of my efforts to get the site back up and running. Off-topic was supposed to be trimmed back to posts made within the last 12 months, but it looks like I did 6 months. There isn't much I can do about that now I'm afraid.

I'm not sure it's 100% sorted yet. We've been experiencing some suspicious load spikes on the server since the start of the year, like 4000 simultaneous forum searches being made, which is just too much to for the server to cope with. It's taken a while to figure it out because by the time I could get on the server it was already on its knees and I couldn't really do much except bounce the web server and database. But I've spent the day watching the server and have seen it going wrong, and I've now put in place some changes which should hopefully protect against this for now. Just got to make up the 6 hours with work now. I know it's all been quiet on the new forum front, but things are still happening in the background thanks to Pete. This has just highlighted the need for us to move onto something more modern as soon as we can.
  23. Blimey, this brings back memories of the southern gumballs I was organising fifteen years ago. I hope it's a really successful event.
