John hates* it - he wanted discourse but he lost the vote. He tried demanding a recount but we rejected that too. Once the converted images are sorted I might relax. Well relax in the sense of now catching up with real work that I've been ignoring in order to get the upgrade over the line. But I'm not sure what I'll do next. My Supra has been sat in a barn for 7 years now and I need to decide if I drag it out and bring it back into life or whether I sell it so someone else can enjoy it. My son (at the grand old age of 3) tells me he wants to fix it up. Bless. By the time he can drive it petrol will probably be banned! * when I say hate I mean he's not actually seen it yet.

I've got to address some embedded images which got converted as just urls. That's an easy search and replace but has some risk, so I'm needing to test things first.

I couldn't resist it any longer. I've made my first customisation. Signatures are now clipped if over 100px in height, just like on the old forum.

Just posting here to make people aware of the clubs which were available on the old forum but were fairly well hidden. And as this is the Welsh club, hello to any fellow members from deepest darkest Wales.

Oh, I also need to address the massive signature problem. On the old forum these were clipped/hidden by some frame thing I added, but I've not done the same here as I'm trying not to customise anything. But I'll have a look next week at what's best to do.

There are a few niggles I still need to sort out. Embedded images have been converted to urls, I can see the setting which caused that but changing it doesn't fix the existing data so I'm awaiting a response from the forum devs about how to proceeded with that. We also had an issue during the upgrade where the last two weeks of posts didn't get converted across. This is exactly what happened the last time I abandoned the upgrade but this time I was able to identify those posts missing and write a script to bring them across. Unfortunately that script wasn't able to parse the posts like the forum does, so things likes images and quotes in those posts look out-of-place with everything else. But I'm hoping anything suggested to fix the previous embedded image issue will also fix this. I'll ask Pete to help resovle the iPhone issue as I don't own one and so cant test it. Also, for those preferring a less bright forum, you can't pick the Bravo6 theme from the dropdown menu at the very bottom of this page.

There are still a few teething problems, especially around searches, but hopefully I can get that sorted soon.

It's been a long time coming, but we are finally here! There are a lot of changes - in fact everything has changed; the forum software, the web server we're using, the server infrastructure in general, even our hosts. I understand that generally no one likes change, but do I hope the overall experience on this new site will be much better than the old. Things might still need tweaking so please bear with us if anything isn't right. If you're having login problems then please use the contact us option.
