lucasl
yea ive got a 112mph delimiter and speedo convertor installed, i was wondering if it still has a 155mph limiter on the j spec models its a manual if that makes any difference. lol not that i need to go these speeds i just wanna be in control of my engine If i remove the trac fuse anyway to get rid of the traction control the slip light would stay on right, so would removing the bulb solve this? BASHTHEBISHOP
Definitely not limited to 155:)

I've always found that removing a bulb is a sure-fire way of turning off a light
JohnA
The freakin UKSpec is limited to 155. You have to pull the TRAC fuse to see over 165 on the speedo, but on an auto this is not a good idea. On this respect:= JSpec - UKSpec: 1-
Ian C
Some delimiting methods change the limiter from 180kph to 180mph ( ), but that's about it. -Ian
lucasl
ok ive allready installed a trl speedo convertor and top speed delimiter, i was wondering tho as on the uk and us models if it still has a 155mph limiter on it

smithy23
ive a uk spec manual, soif i remove the trac fuse ill remove the limiter? what does the trac fuse do?
JohnA
ive a uk spec manual,...what does the trac fuse do? It applies the brakes (among others) when you hit the loud pedal. Seriously. On a manual I would perhaps consider crippling it (or disengaging it often) On the auto it also fiddles with the stupid flap and ignition retard to soften the blow during gearchanges, so pulling the fuse isn't really a good idea. lucasl
The trac fuse is to do with the traction control, just pushing the 'trac off' button only partially disables the trac system. It disables the trac throttle body and trac function throught the abs system on 93,5-96 only, but not the trac system ignition timing retard function. Unplugging the trac fuse eliminates both fuctions as well as the 155mph limiter which im trying to figure out if ive got this on my j-spec. If the trac fuse is removed the trac light will stay on though.
lucasl
the 155mph speed limiter works through the trac throttle body, unlike the j-spec 112mph limiter which is in the ecu
