Nic
My baby was feeling very sorry for herself after being violated last week, so treated her to a nice new set of wipers all round at the weekend. My supplier recommended I try a new design of wiper blade (similar to the new Mercs I believe). Instead of the traditional metal wipers, these are a single curved plastic blade, very simple in design and extremely easy to fit. Very impressed with the results, very smooth operation and they do a perfect job of cleaning the window, far better than any traditional wiper I've used before. I think they look far better too, here are a few pics. http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/905/cimg00031wy.jpg http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/959/cimg00088up.jpg http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/3522/cimg00045nb.jpg http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/9501/cimg00051be.jpg

Nick
Have you tested them at speed Nic ? The Toyota ones have an aerofoil but I don't see one on these. Just curious....

Nic
Have you tested them at speed Nic ? The Toyota ones have an aerofoil but I don't see one on these. Just curious.... Only up to about 100mph between traffic lights They have a very low profile and just seem to hug the contour of the screen and glide very smoothly when in use. I'll do some more testing in the next couple of days and let you know how I get on, although it is nice and sunny now outside. If anyone wants to test a set there, I'll send a set of at cost. cheers
dangerous brain
As supra's get a bit old the spring in the wiper arm gets a bit tired. At speeds above a ton they take off and fly They then need the aerofoil to hold em down. I wonder how much new arms are?

I have the prices here somewhere so will check and let you know in a minute.

dangerous brain
Again can you do me a price for new arms on a 95 aristo delivered. Be easier than painting them.
Nick
I'm not in the market for any myself as the car's in storage, like I say just curious how good they are without the aero, not trying to have a dig or anything. I bought a set of new Toyota ones a while back (prices sounds about right). I had a look at the ones in Halfords and decided that I'd keep the sponge, and make a trip to Toyota... Ark
Those look lots like the VW family's current style of wipers - very effective. I'd give them a try.
Jspec Germany
The new BMW 3 series comes with a wiper like this. When you lift it up, it's flimsey, not rigid. Also Nic, can you get a close up shot from the side profile of the blade? I'm interested to see if these have the same aero wave-like lip profile. Is so dude, I'd definitely be interested in a set or two. I can't drive on the autobahn at any respectable speed if it's raining due to wiper lift off. Also, is it possible to replace the springs inside the arms? I'm pretty sure mine are tired. BTW, I painted my arms with no problems. Can be done in 3 hours including removal, sand, prime, paint, dry, and install.
dangerous brain
yeah or for a few quid you get new springs so no lift off and takes ten minutes to swap em over
Bobbeh
Damn, I guess my Halfrodds ones just dont cut the mustard anymore with these performance wipers around
dangerous brain
I found the halfords ones to be utter sh*te on any car I ever fitted them to. I always pay a few quid more and get the champion or whatever name brand ones there are available.
RedM
I got the Bosch wipers from Halfords. Even with the spoiler thing they lift off at speed. Must be the springs.
Ian R
Nic are these more effective at erm say over 100 mph. I find on a "private raceway" that after 90 mph my wipers (normal ones) the drivers side one isn't very affective
