Guest GETTAJETTA
Anyone noticed how many Supra's have been up for sale recently for ridiculously low prices? Over the past week I've seen a few on ebay for under 3k which didn't sell including an aero top!! Seems like a good time to buy a Supra:d as its a real buyers market at the minute! RedM
..but can those real buyers afford the running costs?
Guigsy
ive spent more on my wheels + tyres and seats in half a year.. could have baught another supe
edge
It wont be long before its just a higher percentage of younger/less experienced/skint and corner cutting chavs who will wreck them with awsome styling, bodged modifications and will probably crash them sending premiums up and beyond. So yes buy a nice stock low mileage supe and stick it in storage.
Guest GETTAJETTA
..but can those real buyers afford the running costs? See your point but I only get 22-25mpg out of my 1.8 litre VW Jetta auto!

SilverSoop
Im actually after a cheap N/A auto for a daily driver... But everyone keeps telling me to buy a Nissan Micra or something along those lines for the 'cheapness' factor. Trouble is, Supra's are extremely reliable and the N/A's have left to go wrong...so i am in a predicament...
Jim_1979
Well, my Supra is one of those cheap ones at the moment. No reason apart from that fact I want to buy a new car. With the market at the moment, nobody's buying! My TT is up at £4800 - stupid cheap!
marc_p
1.8 litre VW Jetta auto Oh dear..... Trouble is, Supra's are extremely reliable and the N/A's have left to go wrong erm..... my n/a has had a new: -engine (£200) -clutch (£200) -flywheel (£200) -radiator + cap (£50) -gearbox mount (£60) -o2 Sensors (£100) -Pulleys (£150) Oh and labour aswell (£800-£900) Plus stuff I have put on it: Wheels (£1500) Spoiler (£55) Spats (£50) Facelift lights (£250) CD Player (£200) Tempory bumper (£70) Number plate (£350) And then theres petrol at about £100 a week (until I got a civic as daily runabout) which has come to about £4000. We can't forget about insurance either (£2100 for the year) So thats over £10,000 in about 10 months and that's not even including the car (£4500) Still think it's a cheap runabout?. But civic: Bought for £1600 Insurance £500 Petrol £30 a week Plus if anything goes wrong there dirt cheap to fix. Do you see where people are coming from now? marc_p
Typo right? Sadly no, but when I renew it drops to £900 The problem was that some ar5ehole reversed into the side of my car and all the insurance claim was put through him, I was down as non fault, but the insurance companys still thought I should pay an extra £500 because i'm more likely to claim! I shouted at them on how it could possibly be fair but they wouldn't budge:(
